Senior Survey Results Summary The Career Development Office (CDO) collected information between April 26, 2013 and May 10, 2013 about the Class of 2013 and their plans after graduation. The survey was voluntary and students could choose what information they wished to share. 91% of the class responded to the survey. Of the 347 students who responded, 103 had accepted an offer, 15 had accepted a fellowship, 66 had been admitted to graduate/ professional school, 27 had accepted a service opportunity, 70 were in the midst of their search and had not accepted an offer, 49 planned to focus on their search after graduation, and 17 planned to travel, volunteer, and/or continue to explore their options. The following information summarizes data students gave permission to share about their post graduate plans. Recruiting at Pomona The Pomona College Recruiting Program is national in scope. To broaden the opportunities for students, the CDO collaborates with peer colleges from across the country. The CDO is a member of the Selective Liberal Arts Consortium (SLAC), the Career and Internship Connections consortium (CIC), and the Liberal Arts Career Network (LACN). Through LACN, the CDO also has access to the opportunities of the Nationwide Internship Consortium (NIC). These consortia, coupled with the Claremont Colleges’ joint on-campus recruiting program, provided students with numerous opportunities including • Job Postings: • Access to over 5,180 full-time, post-bac, and internship opportunity postings in Route 47 • Access to over 12,000 postings from the Liberal Arts Career Network (LACN) • Employer Events: • Over 250 employer informational events hosted at the Claremont Colleges, including 5 large career fair events • At these events, 341 unique organizations were represented • The CDO hosted 67 informational events for employers and graduate schools on the Pomona campus •On-Campus Interviewing: • 100 employers hosted interviews on campus specifically for Claremont College students • The CDO hosted 29 employers for on-campus interviews 1600 1400 1200 1000 800 600 400 200 0 Route 47 Opportunities Full Time Post-Bac/Fellowship Internship Part Time Temporary/Seasonal On-campus Student Employment 2,771 205 2,207 569 339 553 Page 2
