Born in West Bengal, Pradip did his B.F.A and M.F.A. in painting from Kala Bhavan Vishva
Bharati University in Santiniketan. His painterly work somewhat autobiographical features the
world as seen through his eyes. Images triggered by his reactions to the happenings in society
appear like pages of a diary narrated with figures, symbols and at times abstract forms. Pradip’s
work has been exhibited in solo and group shows at Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Santiniketan
amongst others and he has also attended various camps and workshops including one on
Art Restoration and another on Calligraphy. A recipient of merit scholarships from Calcutta
Foundation, Kala Bhavan, the Chancellor’s merit scholarship scheme, Camlin Award for Best
Watercolor Painting and from the Government of Poland, his work is in private collections in
India and Abroad. The artist lives and works in Delhi.
