Shuchi, a Delhi University graduate is a qualified teacher and commercial artist, who has
undergone further training in Creative Arts. Her work includes semi narrative figuration,
landscapes, animals as well as mythological compositions on canvas, paper and transparent
sheet. She has also worked in ceramics and murals and presented jugalbandis with well
known performers including flautist Shri Hari Prasad Chaurasia. Her work has featured in
important exhibitions held in India and overseas. Winner of the Guru Shishya Parampara,
Bhiku Ram Jain Society and Life Time Achievement awards she has also been honoured with
a Plaque by International Congress For Women. Her works are in collections in India, the UK
and Bhutan. Currently she heads the Department of Fine Arts at a School in New Delhi where
she is based.
Baba in his preaching talked about virtues which I could relate to as a way of life.
Shradha means devotion, that aspect of undying faith where in your connection
with the Almighty is not only as expressing gratitude of thanks in good times
but also of keeping faith and feeling that ‘He’ is with you in the times of distress
too. Saboori means patience . Baba keeps you in his hands always taking care of
you. Patience at all times and not a hasty thought or action ever helps. In this
painting I have tried to get through his eyes, the feeling of compassion, empathy
and belonging. This painting is not a work by me but it is a soulful journey in
which Baba has himself come and painted.........
