d. Material not related to registered student organizations or campus activities must be<br />

approved by the News Editor, <strong>University</strong> Relations, prior to distribution or posting.<br />

e. The <strong>University</strong> reserves the right to deny posting privileges or remove materials that violate<br />

any provisions of The Code or other <strong>University</strong> regulations or policies.<br />

20. Students acting individually or on behalf of a registered student organizationlgroup may<br />

distribute written material at designated on-campus locations after reserving those locations<br />

with the appropriate office (see Article V, Section F, Paragraph 17).<br />

21. Functions of organizations/groups that involve unique circumstances for members or to others,<br />

as determined by the Director of Student Activities, may be required to secure special approval<br />

for registration by the Vice President for Student Affairs. For the protection of the organization<br />

and its members, the <strong>University</strong> may require special liability and/or health insurance coverage<br />

on the part of the organization andlor individual members and participants, and may also<br />

require a release and waiver of liability by the participants.<br />

22. Organizations shall comply with all <strong>University</strong> regulations as well as state and federal laws.<br />

Names and addresses of officers shall be required as a condition of registration and access to<br />

institutional funds or facilities. Membership lists are not required.<br />

ARTICLE VI.<br />

STUDENT PUBLICATIONS<br />

The <strong>University</strong> supports several student publications that provide an avenue for students to<br />

express their literary and artistic talents. Policies and procedures concerning student publications<br />

are recommended to the Vice President for Student Affairs by the Student Publications Committee.<br />

Copies of current policies and procedures are available from the Vice President for Student Affairs<br />

or designee.<br />

ARTICLE VII.<br />

STUDENT CONDUCT PROCEDURES<br />

Section A. General<br />

1. In order to ensure justice and the basic elements of due process, the following procedures have<br />

been established for use in all judicial proceedings involving students of the <strong>University</strong>.<br />

2. The Student Conduct Board is annually appointed by the Vice President for Student Affairs.<br />

This Board, composed of students, faculty, and administrators, is charged with:<br />

a. Reviewing The Code and judicial policies and procedures and recommending any changes<br />

deemed necessary;<br />

b. Conducting hearings related to alleged violations of <strong>University</strong> regulations by students,<br />

determining responsibility, and issuing appropriate sanctions;<br />

c. Conducting appeal hearings; and
