Note: The colours mentioned above are achieved only in conjunction with the Pebble grey/hazel
shade of the intermediate coating Disboxid 980 Nefapox Farbpaste. The different resulting surfaces
can be found in the FloorColor plus-color chart.
Discolouration and chalking effects may occur with weathering and UV light exposure. The colourants
in e.g. coffee, red wine or leaves (organic dyestuffs) and various chemicals, e.g. disinfectants, acids,
etc., may cause discolouration. Scratch marks may appear on the surface due to mechanical loads
with grinding effect (Caparol the cleaning instructions and maintenance recommendations are to be
considered). Proper functioning of the coating will not be affected by these changes.

If temperatures are low, the material should be stored at 20 °C before application.
Application
All types of mineral substrates in the interiors. The substrates must be sound, dimensionally stable,
solid and free from all materials that may prevent good adhesion, e.g. loose/brittle materials, dust, oils,
fats/greases or abraded rubber contamination (scuff/skid marks). Cementitious flow mortars,
ameliorated with synthetic resin, must be checked for compatibility by trial application, if necessary.
The adhesive tensile (pull-off) strength of substrates must be 1.5 N/mm² on an average, with a
minimum individual value of 1.0 N/mm².
Substrates must have achieved their equilibrium humidity:
Concrete and cement-based composition floor (screed): max. 4 % by weight
Anhydrite screed: max. 0.5 % by weight
Magnesite screed: 2 – 4 % by weight
Xylolithe (Magnesium Oxychloride) screed: 4 – 8 % by weight
Rising damp/moisture must be avoided. In case of anhydrite and magnesite screeds, complete sealing
from contact with ground is essential.
Prepare the substrate by suitable means, e.g. grit blasting (shot peening) or milling, in order to fulfil the
above mentioned requirements. Always remove existing 1-component coatings and loose 2component
coatings.
Vitreous surfaces and surfaces of rigid existing 2-component coatings must be cleaned and
roughened (flattened) by sanding or blasting or should be primed with Disbon 481 EP-Uniprimer.
Repair spallings and defects with Disbocret® PCC or Disboxid EP mortars and fillers, filling them flush
with the surface.
Disboxid 963 EP-Multi (Grundschicht):
Stir up the base material, then add the hardener and stir intensively with a low-speed electric paddle
(agitator; max. 400 rpm). Continue stirring until a homogeneous, streak-free colour shade is achieved.
Pour the mixture in another clean container and stir again very thoroughly.
Disboxid 963 EP-Multi (Einstreuschicht):
Add the colour paste to the base material and stir with a low-speed electric paddle (agitator; max. 400
rpm). Then add the hardener and continue stirring until a homogeneous, streak-free colour shade is
achieved. Pour the mixture in another clean container and stir again very thoroughly. For producing
flow mortar add 100 % by weight of Disboxid 942 Mischquarz before repotting and stir thoroughly.
Disboxid 957 MultiColor-Chips:
The MultiColor-Chips are ready for use. For application on connected surfaces pour the required
amount of chips into a sufficiently large container, e.g. mortar tub, and stir manually.
Disboxid 948 ColorChips Glimmer:
The ColorChips Glimmer can be mixed in with MultiColor-Chips. For application on connected surfaces
pour the required amount of chips into a sufficiently large container, e.g. mortar tub, and stir manually.
Disboxid 422 E.MI ClearCoat:
Stir up the base material, then add the hardener and stir intensively with a low-speed electric paddle
(agitator; max. 400 rpm). Continue stirring until a homogeneous, streak-free colour shade is achieved.
Pour the mixture in another clean container and stir again very thoroughly. For a slip-resistant
finishing-coat add the required amount of Disbon 947 SlideStop Medium bzw.or Disbon 947 SlideStop
Rough after repotting and stir thoroughly.
Priming Coat
Prime mineral substrates with Disboxid 963 EP-Multi, filling all pores.
Consumption*:
Disboxid EP-Multi: approx. 300 – 400 g/m 2
Scatter/strew quartz sand Disboxid 942 uniformly onto the complete surface (freshly applied priming
coat).
Consumption*:
Disboxid 943 Einstreuquarz: approx. 800 g/m 2

MultiColor-System - innen
Scratch Filler Application (if necessary)
Rough-textured, porous substrates: Prime and apply an additional, equalising scratch filler coat. This
has always to be applied on mechanically pre-treated magnesite screeds, which are extremely openporous.
Consumption*:
Disboxid 963 EP-Multi: approx. 660 g/mm/m²
Disboxid 942 Mischquarz: approx. 1,000 g/mm/m²
Scatter/strew quartz sand Disboxid 942 uniformly onto the freshly applied scratch filler coat (complete
surface).
Consumption*:
Disboxid 943 Einstreuquarz: approx. 1,000 g/m 2
Note: Disboxid 980 NefaPox can be added to the prime coat or the scratch filler in order to prepigment
the surfaces.
Colourful Intermediate Coat
Pour the thoroughly mixed flow mortar, a mixture of Disboxid 963 EP-Multi (tint: Pebble Grey/hazel)
and Disboxid 942 Mischquarz, onto the primed surface and spread out uniformly with a 3 mm**
V-notched hard rubber trowel/wiper. Then turn the wiper and treat the coatings surface with the smooth
side. Deaerate with a spiked roller (crosswise) after a waiting approx. 10 minutes.
Consumption*:
Disboxid 963 EP-Multi: approx. 800 g/m²
Disboxid 942 Mischquarz: approx. 800 g/m²
Disboxid 957 MultiColor-Chips can be mixed with up to 3 % by weight of Disboxid 948 ColorChips
Glimmer.
Spray Disboxid 957 MultiColor-Chips by funnel/hopper pistol (“Flüstertüte“, made by Putzmeister), with
a working pressure of approx. 2 bars, onto the freshly deaerated intermediate coatings surface. For
this purpose the surface may be walked on with suitable hobnailed boots.
The nozzle should be held slightly downward to guarantee a uniform spread of chips. The surface to
be coated should initially be sprayed twice (thin uniform film of chips) and then be completely covered
with an overage of MultiColor-Chips.
To avoid lapping, zoned partial substrate areas should be treated without interruption.
Consumption*:
Disboxid 957 MultiColor-Chips: approx. 1,000 - 1,300 g/m 2
Note: In case of intensive chip colours, the intermediate coat should be applied without surface
unevenness and noticeable trowel marks. To avoid the forming of visible shading the air-injection of
MultiColor-Chips to the surface must be completed homogeneously and with a surplus. Protect airinjected
chips against moisture.
Allow the intermediate coat to harden, then slightly sandpaper the complete surface (dry abrasive
paper, grit of 60 - 80) and sweep or remove the dust by suction cleaning.
Note: Avoid all soiling and high mechanical loads of surfaces covered with chips. Workers shoes
should be protected by suitable means (e.g. with clean clothes or wear fabric overshoes).
Closing the pores
Pour thoroughly mixed Disboxid 422 E.MI ClearCoat onto the hardened intermediate coat and spread
out uniformly with a spline for epoxy resin joints or a soft rubber wiper, closing all pores.
Consumption*:
Disboxid 422 E.MI ClearCoat: approx. 400 g/m 2
Finishing seal
Smooth surface:
Pour thoroughly mixed Disboxid 422 E.MI ClearCoat onto the hardened intermediate coat and spread
out uniformly with a hard rubber scraper/wiper/trowel (V-notched, 3 mm)**. Deaerate with a spiked
roller (cross-wise) after a waiting time of approx. 10 minutes.
Consumption*:
Disboxid 422 E.MI ClearCoat:approx. 900 - 1100 g/m 2
The smooth finishing sealing can additionally be matt sealed using Disbopor 458 Aqua Siegel
(achieves slide category R9). In conjunction with Disbon 947 SlideStop Fine Disbopur 458 PU-
AquaSiegel achieves slide class R 11. For processing instructions, see Technical Information No. 458.
slip-resistant, glossy finishing coat with glass pellets:
Apply a uniform coat of Disboxid 422 E.MI ClearCoat (adding approx. 30 % by weight of Disbon 947
SlideStop Rough oder Disbon 947 SlideStop Medium with a PE smoothing trowel – apply in the
thickness of glass pellets.
Then roll crosswise over it with a rough-textured Moltoprene roller (5 mm diameter of pores). Therefore
the surface may be walked on with suitable hobnailed boots.
In case of prolonged downtimes stir the material in between.
Cleaning and care at regular intervals is indispensable to preserve the noble look of coated surfaces.
For a long-term maintenance of value apply felt pads to chair & table legs. Carefully arrange the
furniture and all other contents, avoiding scratch marks and partial damages. Always lift the furniture &
fixtures and never relocate with direct and abrading contact to the surface. Only soft bottom rollers are
suitable for chairs, e.g. office chairs.
Protect entrance areas against soiling by suitable means (e.g. floormats). 1-2 basic cleanings per year
with following sealing are required for the industrial sector, depending on the loads. In between the
sealed surface has to be cleaned/wiped at regular intervals with a suitable care product. Flattened
surfaces may be slightly polished up (brightened) in order to extend the time period for subsequent
basic cleaning.
It is advisable to check the cleaning method or floor care product for suitability by trial application on a
partial area (not all customary products are suitable). Before the first use of finished coating, a suitable
floor care sealer should be applied (e.g. care dispersion/emulsion B 250 of TANA-Chemie GmbH,
Mainz). Adhesion problems may occur when using other care sealers on the new coating. A trial care
sealer application is advisable. For basic cleaning use e.g. basic cleaner GR 10 of TANA-Chemie
GmbH, Mainz. Maintenance cleaning is effected with suitable wet cleaning & floor care product. Follow
the General Advice for Cleaning and Care/Maintenance of Disbon Floor Coatings. The product specific
advice for care is available at the Caparol Customer Service Centre.
See Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
