Tech Session at Rim & Wheel Works<br />

Saturday, September 21st from 10AM until 2PM<br />

The <strong>Boston</strong> <strong>Chapter</strong> is happy to announce a Tech Session to be held at Rim & Wheel Works on Saturday,<br />

September 21st at their facilities at 50 Sun Street, Waltham MA from 10 AM to 2 PM. This is a relatively<br />

new facility and the staff is excited to open it u for this special program. The morning session beginning at<br />

10:15AM will include a discussion of tire pressure monitoring systems and the new law about the systems.<br />

It will also include a demonstration of both automotive and motorcycle wheel straightening and explain<br />

the importance of using heat to restore the temper of any wheels being straightened.<br />

Following a noon pizza lunch courtesy of the <strong>Chapter</strong>, the afternoon session will include a 12:15 PM<br />

discussion regarding wheel cosmetics followed by a second demonstration of wheel straightening at 1:00<br />

PM. Everyone attending the event will receive a coupon for a free listing on www.aftermarketwheels.com<br />

as well as a chance to win some great door prizes.<br />

CANAM racing in the 60s and 70s), was completely rebuilt<br />

and upgraded in 2001. Situated in one of the most gorgeous<br />

settings in the world, the layout is a classic. It combines the<br />

natural topography of the site with elevation changes from<br />

the start/ finish line to corner 8 and back. The track is bordered<br />

by Lake Moore and Devil River (La Diable).<br />

This year’s event will be held Friday through Sunday,<br />

August 8th, 9th and 10th. On Saturday night the <strong>Chapter</strong>s’<br />

will host a banquet buffet at the top of the mountain offering<br />

spectacular views of the valley and the track in the<br />

distance. Following dinner, guests are invited to take part<br />

in the “Star Gazers” event also held at the top of the mountain.<br />

As added excitement everyone is invited to watch over<br />

50 <strong>BMW</strong> <strong>CCA</strong> Club Racers compete in the Northeast Region<br />

Premier Race. There will be one race each day and all<br />

spectators are welcome. Come and cheer for your favorite<br />

driver from one of many great locations around the track.<br />

Registration & novice discounts<br />

If you’ve ever thought about participating in a track event,<br />

this great time to start. First time ever drivers qualify for<br />

a special $100 discount. Please use the Online Registration<br />

system to register for this event, but remember:<br />

• ALL students may register for Saturday and Sunday,<br />

• But the Friday school is reserved for racers, instructors<br />

and advanced students who meet advanced driving<br />

skills requirements.<br />

Registration is open through Sunday, August 3rd or until<br />

all slots are filled. The event is open to <strong>BMW</strong> <strong>CCA</strong> members<br />

and non-members for the same price, as follows:<br />

• US$495. 00 (US$395 for first timers) for the 2-Day<br />

Primary Drivers School Program which is open to everyone<br />

with driving on Saturday and Sunday.<br />

• US$695 for the 3-day Advanced Student Driving<br />

School Program that includes over 5 hours of additional<br />

driving time on Friday. Remember, advanced<br />

students must meet certain guidelines to be accepted<br />

for the Friday program – please check details at www.<br />

boston-bmwcca.org.<br />
