REDIPRESS Standard is a normally open momentary
switch where a press-at-any-point facility is needed. It is
available in two profiles. Low profile (Green or Black) for
finger operation, High profile (Red or White) for finger,
hand or foot operation. It can be supplied in any length.
Although the strip is flexible it will not cope with corners, it
must therefore be joined at corners.
In its simplest form it is terminated at one end with a
400mm two core cable, the remote end being sealed but
open circuit. For security systems it is often necessary to
monitor a circuit against deliberate or accidental
disconnection. REDIPRESS can be terminated at both
ends with 400 mm of two core cable to form part of a 4
wire double pole system, or supplied terminated at one
end with two core cable, and at the remote end with an
End Of Line Resistor for remote monitoring by a control
panel or by a REDIMON unit. An optional end cap is
available to finish each end if required

REDIPRESS Tamper
Resistant uses the
same switch elements as
the standard version but
has a tamper resistant
flexible red cover to give
extra protection to the
switch element.
To accommodate the cover a larger aluminium mounting
channel is supplied. The cover clips on as shown above.
End caps are also included to enable a smooth transition
to 25 x 15mm mini trunking. Shown here pre and post
completion.
Note: REDIPRESS should not be used on mains
voltage without a suitable step down transformer.

When ordering REDIPRESS Standard allow 65mm at
each cable end for junction boxes and terminations.
Therefore if the wall to wall measurement is
3.35metres you should order (3.35 - 0.13) = 3.22m
When ordering REDIPRESS Tamper Resistant specify
only the overall measurement. Therefore if the wall to
wall measurement is 3.35metres you should order
3.35m.
REDIPRESS is cut and factory terminated. It cannot be returned for credit or FOC alteration.

Fig 1 shows REDIPRESS connected in an
open circuit system. The strips are
connected in parallel. This is the most
economical method as it uses TYPE 1
terminations, however, it is of course unmonitored.
Fig 2 uses TYPE 2 and TYPE 3
terminations to form a monitored system.
The value of the End of Line resistor must
be matched to the control system and
must be specified on ordering.
Fig 3 shows REDIPRESS connected to a
REDIMON unit to provide end of line
monitoring. This uses TYPE 2 and TYPE 3
terminations. The TYPE 3 terminations
would have 6k8 resistor values in this case.

REDIMON
End of Line Monitor Unit
REDIMON is a latching monitor unit to monitor two open circuit
momentary devices such as REDIPRESS to give alarm and
fault conditions. An end of line resistor (6k8) is fitted at the
remote ends of REDIPRESS. Pressing the REDIPRESS will
be detected as an alarm condition. If disconnected in any way
a fault condition is generated. The REDIMON requires 12 volts
dc and provides volt free changeover contacts independently
for both alarm and fault. A status LED is provided, this would
normally be illuminated as green for system healthy and would
change to red for alarm and yellow for fault condition.
