Dear Friends:
Thank you for allowing me to take part in today's event, the first annual Installation of
Officers for 2002-2004, of the PNA of Oregon and Washington. I only wish I could be with you
in person.
It is gratifying to learn of the remarkable accomplishments of your association after such
a short period of time. The services you offer - from outreach programs to volunteer services, ,
such as immunizations, blood pressure and glucose testing - help to provide the Philippine
community with the basic health care services they may otherwise do without.
As a member of the United States House of Representatives, I work very hard to ensure
individuals in this country receive the health care services they deserve. But this goal can only
be reached with the help of organizations such as yours.
I am very proud of your good work, and offer my congratulations and wishes for great
success in your future endeavors.

and congratulate you on the occasion of your historical celebration on the
founding of the Philippine Nurses Association of Oregon-Washington. I join
your well-wishers on this fantastic occasion. Together with the member chapters
of the Philippine Nurses Association of America, I am extremely privileged to
extend my warmest and sincerest welcome to your new family, the Philippine
Nurses Association of America.
New chapters are formed because of a collective futuristic vision of its founding
leaders. I want to commend the pioneers of your organization who recognized
the need and come together to establish this Association. Your remarkable
presence at the recent Western Regional Conference earlier this year has already
created waves of your future contribution in advancing the cause of the PNAA
