Vance Fulkerson, division manager at Robins & Morton, Birmingham, Ala., began his service as
the Southeast Region vice chairman of Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) on Jan.1, 2013.
The Southeast Region includes approximately 4,500 member companies and 13 chapters in
Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina.
As a member of the ABC Executive Committee, Fulkerson helps oversee the activities of the
national association, sets policy and assists the national chairman in carrying out the mandates of
the ABC Board of Directors. Prior to his appointment to the ABC Executive Committee,
Fulkerson served for three years on the ABC Board of Directors.
At the chapter level, Fulkerson was on the Alabama Chapter Board of Directors for 11 years,
serving as the chairman of the board for two years and secretary, 2 nd vice chair and 1 st vice chair
for one year each. In addition to serving on the Executive Committee at the chapter level, he
also chaired the General Subcontractor Committee for two years, worked with the Auburn
Student Chapter and served on several other committees including, membership, business
development, education and the legislative/federal political action committee. Robins & Morton
also won the Alabama Chapter’s Contractor of the Year Award in 2009.
Fulkerson graduated from Auburn University in 1991 with has Bachelor of Science in Building
Construction. Since then, Fulkerson’s more than 20 years of construction experience has allowed
him to work on many different types of projects across the nation, including museums, office
buildings, churches, condominiums, health care facilities, parking garages and a wide array of
industrial facilities.
