Whatever the reason, a particular nostalgic charm emanates from the wonderful animal friends and dolls created by the Monroe family of artists, including mom Jane Monroe now celebrating her 25th year of bear-making, son Jared, and lately joining the family artistic troupe, daughter Jessie Ross. Jane and Jared have won many design awards, yet despite these accolades they continue to personally create each and every stitch on their wonderful animal friends. G u s , Th e Sh y B e a r The sparse vintage look of Gus is made endearing by his slightly cross-eyed shy expression. Details include richly embroidered nose and mouth, airbrushed accents, and calico bow with star necklace. Of course, he's fully jointed. 14". TB-569. $175. R u b y Ki t t y Ruby is perfectly designed and weighed to sit with dangling or crossed legs, with the characteristic feline look, half of uncontrollable curiosity and half of loving contempt, which every cat owner will recognize.
