• Mechanically controlled single drum winch for 3-point attachment, category 1/2 (ISO
730); powered by tractor PTO-shaft;
• Operated with control cord.

3. Test results
Application field / required tractor
The winch is primarily suited for yarding and skidding thin – for towed loads less than
1.5 m 3 - in easy terrain.
The mounted winch is particularly suitable for use in farmer forestry and private
firewood harvesting.
It is recommended to mount the winch on a 4WD agricultural tractor weighing at least
2500 kg and with an engine power in excess of approx. 30 kW.
For safer and more rational skidding it is recommended to improve the tractor axle load
distribution by adding front weights.
The relatively small winch does not noticeably affect the manoeuvrability of the tractor.
The winch can also be attached to a quick-hitch.
Load collecting, anchoring, rope speed
The load is collected using the choker procedure or by hauling-in individual stems while
winch is firmly anchored to the ground
To avoid pitching the tractor thicker stems and large choker loads must be winched
using the lower cable guide pulleys.
Yarding with the control cord causes more damage to the stand and is more time
consuming.
The stacking shield provides adequate support.
The drum capacity permits hauling-in stems from a distance of up to 70 m.
Transport
The load is either transported suspended from the rope over the lower cable guide
pulleys or using the choker chains attached to the chain slots.
Piling
Stems can only be piled by pushing them together using the stacking shield.

The mounted winches are reliable. Spooling quality is just good. No defects occurred
during the test.
Winch construction is robust and durable: No defects occurred during the test.
The durability of the surface coating is good.
Ergonomics (operation – physical effort)
The operation of the winch is simple. The actuating forces required for hauling-in the
rope, releasing the brake are within approved limits.
Using the control cord, the effort required for attaining full line pull and releasing the
brake under load is about 350 N. The total effort is nearly completely independent of
the load.
The control cord also enables the operator to winch and release the brake from the
tractor.
The effort required for uncoiling the rope from the drums is low (approx 50 N).
Operator is forced to assume an unfavourable body posture during piling.
Assembly time and maintenance
The mounted winch can be attached to or removed from the tractor in less than 15 min.
The time required for maintenance is low.
Stability
Two stabilizers provide safe support for the mounted winch on hard ground.
Work safety
The mounted winch TAJFUN Type EGV 35 A has been tested for work safety at the
Deutsche Prüfstelle für Land- und Forsttechnik (DPLF) (GS-Test).
Operator manual and spare parts list
The operator manual and spare parts list are comprehensive and clear.
Survey results
The test results are confirmed by a survey among owners of type-identical mounted
winches.
