Both my father and my uncle served with the Army <strong>in</strong> Korea.<br />
I would love <strong>to</strong> locate someone who served with them. My father<br />
died when I was a young child and my uncle was killed <strong>in</strong> Korea<br />
before I was born. I am search<strong>in</strong>g for <strong>in</strong>formation or pictures anyone<br />
may have.<br />
My father, Elmouth Leroy Krause, from Belhaven, NC, served<br />
<strong>in</strong> Korea <strong>in</strong> the early 1950s. My uncle, PFC Veer M. Krause (also<br />
known as Worth Krause), was killed <strong>in</strong> Korea <strong>in</strong> 1950. He was<br />
20 when he died. He was from Norfolk, VA.<br />
I would appreciate anyth<strong>in</strong>g you or your members can do <strong>to</strong><br />
help me with my search.<br />

The pho<strong>to</strong> below of the enlisted personnel at the Regiment’s<br />
First Battalion Aid Station <strong>in</strong> the sec<strong>to</strong>r called the Iron Triangle<br />
was taken <strong>in</strong> August 1951, the day before I was rotated home<br />
after thirteen months <strong>in</strong> Korea with the Medical Company, 35th<br />
Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division.<br />
Note that I have my arm around my replacement—whose<br />
name I did not even know—so he would not get away.<br />

Who is this officer?<br />
I arrived <strong>in</strong> Pusan, Korea at the end of July 1950 with the<br />
Second Infantry Division, an all-African American 3rd Battalion,<br />
“M” Company. In my first combat battle on August 10, 1950, I<br />
was wounded dur<strong>in</strong>g Task Force Bradley <strong>in</strong> the Pusan Perimeter<br />
<strong>in</strong> the area of Pohangdon.<br />

Alfred Forde?<br />
After return<strong>in</strong>g <strong>to</strong> my unit follow<strong>in</strong>g treatment, I was transferred<br />
<strong>to</strong> Second Infantry Division, 1st Battalion, “C” Company.<br />
On September 18, 1950, I was wounded on Hill 201, also <strong>in</strong> the<br />
Pusan Perimeter. Both times after I was wounded, I was taken <strong>to</strong><br />
the military hospital <strong>in</strong> Osaka, Japan.<br />
Can anyone identify the officer on my right <strong>in</strong> the nearby picture?<br />
I met him while convalesc<strong>in</strong>g, either <strong>in</strong> August or<br />
September. I would like <strong>to</strong> contact him if possible.<br />

I am enclos<strong>in</strong>g copies of pho<strong>to</strong>graphs I made dur<strong>in</strong>g my service<br />
<strong>in</strong> the Army while I was stationed <strong>in</strong> Osan, Korea. I am hop<strong>in</strong>g<br />
<strong>to</strong> locate some of the soldiers who were <strong>in</strong> my company (Hq<br />
& Sv. Co., 840 EAB).<br />

<strong>in</strong> country. Desegregation of the races had come <strong>to</strong> our company<br />
<strong>in</strong> Oc<strong>to</strong>ber 1950.<br />
Sgt Nabors had been with us only a few weeks. I would certa<strong>in</strong>ly<br />
like <strong>to</strong> hear from these “old” buddies.<br />
