As<br />
we have noted in past issues, there is no shortage of thanks extended from <strong>Korean</strong>s to the<br />
veterans who fought for their country’s freedom over fifty years ago. Here are more results.<br />
Laredo Chapter Members Honored<br />
Laredo Chapter [CID 209] members attended the Ninth<br />
<strong>Korean</strong> Appreciation Dinner hosted by the Baptist Community<br />
Church in honor of all <strong>Korean</strong> veterans. The <strong>Korean</strong> Community<br />
members are friendly and very gracious people. We had a grand<br />
time and a great dinner.<br />

Ernesto Sanchez, Chapter President, presented a plaque to<br />
Rev. Mun, Myung Kwon on behalf of the Chapter in appreciation<br />
for their many years of friendliness and support toward the<br />
Laredo Chapter.<br />

UKWV Sponsors CA Vet Dinner<br />
Seventeen members of the Mt. Diablo, CA, Chapter attended<br />
a dinner sponsored by the United <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong> <strong>Veterans</strong> of<br />
Northern California in its 58th Annual Commemorative<br />
Ceremony of the <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong>. The ceremony and dinner were<br />
held on 25 June <strong>2008</strong> at the <strong>Korean</strong> restaurant, Sam Won Kal<br />
Bi, in Oakland, CA.<br />
Dr. C. H. Suh extended the invitation to all area U.S.<br />
<strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong> veterans. As he explained, “I am a <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>Korean</strong><br />
<strong>War</strong> veteran. I served three years in the Republic of Korea<br />
Army during the war, and I was discharged with honor with the<br />
rank of captain.”<br />
