KWVA National Recruiting Event In Florida: Don<br />

Struhar Honored<br />

KWVA National Director Jeff<br />

Brodeur presented an Award of<br />

Recognition to Don Struhar, a<br />

member of South Lake County KWVA<br />

Chapter # 188 at a special meeting in<br />

Clermont, Florida on Tuesday, March<br />

15th, 2006.<br />

Mr. Brodeur acknowledged and presented<br />

a special Award of Recognition to<br />

artist Don Struhar for his outstanding<br />

achievements in design. Don’s work is<br />

known worldwide. For example, he created<br />

the insignia for the first Super Bowl<br />

Championship ring for Vince Lombardi<br />

and the Green Bay Packers, five NFL/AFL<br />

Championship rings, and designed a special<br />

crest for First Lady Pat Nixon. He has<br />

also designed many logos, including the<br />

patch for the US Federation of Korea<br />

Veteran Organizations. His work can be<br />

seen on the KWVA Monument erected at<br />

the Civic Center in Groveland, Florida.<br />

This monument was detailed and designed<br />

by Mr. Struhar and donated by KWVA<br />

Chapter #188 of South Lake County.<br />

Don’s artistry has included designs for a<br />

multitude of leading corporations.<br />

His background comprises 10 years as<br />

Director of Designs for Josten’s of<br />

Princeton, IL., followed by 20 years with<br />

Robbins of Attleboro, Mass, and two years<br />

as a freelancer. Struhar used his expertise<br />

in the pictorial and metallic design field to<br />

produce for leading corporations such as<br />

General Motors, Chrysler, Ford and a<br />

number of other Fortune 500 companies;<br />

two United States presidents, Ivy League<br />

colleges, Lafayette Foundation, the<br />

International Mint, Grand Old Opry,<br />

American Business Woman’s <strong>Association</strong><br />

and a multitude of other clients.<br />

We are truly fortunate and honored to<br />

have Don in our organization.<br />

Recruiting Reminder<br />

Keep in mind that KWVA members of<br />

all states are encouraged to join the<br />

National <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong> <strong>Veterans</strong><br />

<strong>Association</strong>. Since promoting our new<br />

recruitment program, KWVA membership<br />

has already increased an additional 500<br />

new members. Remember, there is power<br />

in numbers!<br />
