11.3. Hick Turner, b. c. 1807. The story is told that he was a boxer (prize
fighter) and once got into a fight, where he bit off a man's ear. The
locals supposedly formed a lynch mob to get him. It appears he left
the area rather suddenly, never to be seen or heard of again. I don't
know how much truth there is to the story, that came from the
Turner's of Bowling's Creek. I even though for a long time that John
Turner & Hick Turner, supposedly brother's, were the same man,
Hick being a nick-name. I have no proof or info as to whether he
froze to death orwent to Illinois or what.

11.5. Terrence "Larkin" Turner, b. 1820; d. late 1880's. He md. Mary
"Polly" Herald, b. 1825; d. 1907, d/o Alexander Herrald, Sr. &
Elizabeth Turner (See enclosed Circuit Court Document); He md.
5/16/1839 in Perry Co. to his l " cousin. They owned large acres of
land on Turner's Creek, Long's Creek, and along the Middle Fork of
the Ky. River. They raised their family on Turner's Creek where the
old Turner's Creek school stood. See p. 35 for the begirming of
several pages on their family history.
