Harlan County on May 2, 1866. He also stated his father was A.S. Hall, who was<br />
born in Lee Co., Va. In 1822, and died in Harlan County, Ky. On June 7, 1887, and<br />
was a Baptist preacher. In the AFFIDAVIT, A.D. Hall stated his Grandfather was<br />

From Nettie F. Stephenson. Harlan Co .. 1-22-1969. her letter says:.<br />
.. "Speaking of Frances Hall who was in the Civil War. well I have seen him<br />
many times when I was a child. During elections. and other events in the<br />
county. he would go up and down the streets waving the American Flag and<br />
calling out: "Live or Die. Sink or Swim. l' for the Old Log Cabin<br />
(Republican Party)." Frances Hall and James Hall are buried in the old Gray's<br />
Knob Cemty. (Hall) and their ~aves are both marked with Government<br />
markers. I visited the cemtery last Spring before it ~ew up in weeds." Signed:<br />
