• <strong>NUS</strong> organized <strong>the</strong> Council for <strong>the</strong> Advancement and<br />
Support for Education (CASE) Conference <strong>2006</strong>. Held<br />
for <strong>the</strong> first time in Asia, <strong>the</strong> conference, drew some<br />
450 participants from over 170 institutions in 30<br />
countries.<br />
• <strong>NUS</strong> hosted <strong>the</strong> 8 th ASEAN <strong>University</strong> Network<br />
Education Forum, Tertiary Education in ASEAN:<br />
Perspectives from Young Leaders, and Young<br />
Speakers Contest in May <strong>2006</strong>.<br />
Global Standing<br />
• The 2005 global ranking <strong>of</strong> universities by The Times<br />
<strong>of</strong> London placed <strong>NUS</strong>:<br />
- 22 nd overall and 3 rd in Asia<br />
- 9 th for Technology<br />
- 13 th for Social Sciences<br />
- 15 th for Biomedicine<br />
• Newsweek’s inaugural ranking <strong>of</strong> global universities<br />
placed <strong>NUS</strong> among <strong>the</strong> top 3 in Asia and Australasia,<br />
and 31 st worldwide.<br />

<strong>State</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>2006</strong><br />
• Financial Times ranked <strong>the</strong> Asia Pacific Executive<br />
MBA (EMBA) programs <strong>of</strong> <strong>NUS</strong> Business School (BIZ)<br />
among <strong>the</strong> world’s top 30 in 2005. In <strong>2006</strong>, it ranked<br />
BIZ’s full-time MBA program 92 nd in <strong>the</strong> world, 3 rd in<br />
Asia, and 5 th for international mobility, which traces<br />
alumni’s employment movements.<br />
• The Top 100 ranking <strong>of</strong> business schools’ research<br />
contributions done by <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Texas, Dallas<br />
(UTD) placed BIZ 51 st worldwide and 7 th among <strong>the</strong><br />
non-US schools. The ranking is based on UTD’s survey<br />
<strong>of</strong> faculty publications in 24 leading business journals<br />
between 2001 and 2005.
