As President of NYCC from
1959 to 1985, Dr. Ernest
Napolitano championed an innovative,
integrated vision of collaborative healthcare.
In an era when concepts of holistic care
were almost unknown in the larger medical
field, his prescient integrated vision was truly
ahead of its time. As a speaker, leader, and
practitioner, Dr. Napolitano helped create
a remarkable history and future for NYCC.
He initiated many of our identifying
Traditions of Excellence through his faith,
dedication and authoritative leadership.
The Napolitano era ushered in a period
of dynamic growth, modernization and
prosperity for NYCC. Few men have
impacted a profession and institution
as he did, earning our ongoing respect
and admiration.

Philosophy Lecture Series Institute
Today, we are undertaking an initiative to
honor his spirit and philosophy. A lecture
series that explores such issues as vitalism and
natural healing cannot help but advance the
art, science and philosophy of chiropractic.
The Ernest G. Napolitano Philosophy Lecture
Series Institute will amplify Dr. Napolitano’s
emphasis on the importance of integrating
chiropractic in diverse healthcare settings by
encouraging students, faculty and alumni to
remain open to varied disciplines, approaches
and perspectives. We will create a forum for
an open exchange of ideas dedicated to
interprofessional tolerance, understanding
and constructive intellectual discourse.
Lecturers will include distinguished scholars,
authors, practitioners, instructors, and a rich
variety of business and healthcare professionals
who will significantly augment NYCC’s existing
curriculum and bring even greater diversity to
our educational foundation.
The Napolitano Series will provide the added
benefit of allowing these distinguished visitors
to spend time at NYCC and acquaint themselves
with our campus, faculty, students and curriculum.
