GROUP TEACHER
Certificate of Completion
This certificate is for students who wish to meet the educational
requirements for Group Teacher. Students must complete a
minimum of five of the six courses listed below to be eligible for
the Ocean County College certificate. Certificate holders who
have met state requirements for experience in an early childhood
setting may apply to the Bureau of Licensing for state certification
as Group Teachers. Courses also may be credited toward the
associate degree.

This program is designed for students planning to work as classroom
aides or to assist teaching personnel in public or private nursery
schools or day care centers. Students planning to become teachers
should choose the Liberal Arts (A.A.) transfer program.
