Verge Collections - General Greenwaste Verge Collections Junk and Metals<br />
Verge Collections<br />
The City of Mandurah provides verge collections<br />
to residential properties only. <strong>You</strong>r cooperation will<br />
ensure that the waste on your verge is collected<br />
and removed on time<br />
PLEASE DO:<br />
✔ Place your waste neatly on the verge no more than<br />
SEVEN DAYS prior to the scheduled start date for<br />
your area (please refer to table overleaf)<br />
✔ Place your waste on your own verge by Monday<br />
6.00am (including public holidays) on the<br />
scheduled start date for your Area, as the<br />
contractor will only check your verge once<br />
✔ Allow five to seven working days for your collection<br />
Residents who have restricted verge access<br />
are requested to contact the Waste Alliance on<br />
9550 4700 for advice prior to the collection<br />
commencing in your area.<br />
PLEASE DO <strong>NO</strong>T:<br />
✘ Obstruct the footpath, your normal bin services or<br />
the line of sight of pedestrians, cyclists or cars<br />
✘ Place your waste inside your property line<br />
✘ Place your waste on other verges as it WILL <strong>NO</strong>T<br />
be collected from vacant properties or public<br />
reserves<br />
✘ Tie your greenwaste in bundles or place into bags<br />
As verge collections are picked up by mechanical<br />
means, please DO <strong>NO</strong>T place your waste next to<br />
trees, power poles, walls, street signs, sprinklers<br />
or water meters (as these may be damaged)<br />
Waste placed on the verge more than seven days<br />
prior to the collection commencing in your area, or<br />
after the truck has passed, will render you liable to<br />
a litter infringement notice.<br />
Remember: please DO <strong>NO</strong>T place junk or scrap<br />
metals out for this collection<br />
The following items WILL be collected:<br />
Tree and shrub prunings up to<br />
✔✔ 1.5 metres in length<br />
✔✔ 300mm in diameter<br />
✔✔ Two trailer loads (6’ x 4’ trailer size)<br />
or two cubic metres of greenwaste only<br />
(Excess greenwaste will not be removed)<br />
The following items WILL <strong>NO</strong>T be collected:<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> bags or boxes of leaves or grass clippings<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> weeds and root materials<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> sand and soil materials<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> dug out lawn<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> leaves and lawn clippings<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> general rubbish, junk or metals<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> palms, logs or trunks larger than 300mm in diameter<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> greenwaste more than 1.5 metres in length<br />
Please DO <strong>NO</strong>T place bags/boxes of leaves or lawn<br />
clippings out as these WILL <strong>NO</strong>T be collected.<br />
Remember: please DO <strong>NO</strong>T place greenwaste<br />
out for this collection<br />
The following items<br />

✔ Whitegoods<br />
(fridge, stoves, etc)<br />
✔ Scrap metal<br />
✔ Timber products<br />
(up to 1.5 metres in<br />
length)<br />
✔ General junk<br />
✔ Three trailer loads<br />
(6’x4’ trailer size) or<br />
three cubic metres only<br />
EXCESS WASTE WILL<br />
<strong>NO</strong>T BE REMOVED.<br />
Please consider the opening<br />
size of the collection vehicle<br />
when placing items out for<br />
collection - maximum width<br />
1.5 metres, maximum height<br />
1.2 metres.<br />
Note: Doors MUST be<br />
detached from fridges and<br />
freezers.<br />

✘ <strong>NO</strong> greenwaste<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> asbestos or fibre<br />
cement products<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> foodstuff or domestic<br />
rubbish<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> bricks, sand or building<br />
rubble<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> car bodies or vehicle<br />
parts<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> tyres or batteries<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> household hazardous,<br />
medical or veterinary waste<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> cement or concrete<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> stumps, palm logs or<br />
tree roots<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> paints, chemicals, oils<br />
or acids<br />
✘ <strong>NO</strong> plate glass or shower<br />
screens<br />
The truck collecting metal products is a separate truck<br />
from the general junk collection vehicle.<br />
Please place bulk rubbish on the verge in TWO<br />
PILES without obstructing footpaths.
