FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. 90 reis black, Early Impression on yellowish toned paper, the<br />

used example with large margins all round, cancelled by rimless CORREIO GERAL DA<br />

CORTE datestamp 1.8.1843 in black. A spectacular stamp used on First Day of Issue and<br />

one of just two examples known of the 90 reis (the other example was in the Dr. Hugo<br />

Goeggel <strong>collection</strong>, <strong>Corinphila</strong> sale 178, lot 4148 in February 2013). Tiny nick in the lower<br />

left corner of the stamp in no way affecting the appearance of this rarity. Cert. Moorhouse<br />
