<strong>Sisters</strong>’ Ministry Fund<br />
Enabling the Work <strong>of</strong> 16 Supported Ministries<br />
and 340 <strong>Sisters</strong>’ Ministries<br />
The founding congregations <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Dominican</strong> <strong>Sisters</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Peace</strong> established more than 33 institutions that<br />
continue to operate today, some <strong>of</strong> which are financially independent and others <strong>of</strong> which continue to be supported<br />
by the <strong>Dominican</strong> <strong>Sisters</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Peace</strong>. Currently, 160 <strong>Dominican</strong> <strong>Sisters</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Peace</strong> and numerous Associates<br />
<strong>of</strong> the congregation serve in these institutions. An additional 137 <strong>Sisters</strong> serve in parish or other diocesan ministries,<br />
16 serve in other nonpr<strong>of</strong>it organizations, 27 minister in public sector (government) positions, and one<br />
ministers in the private sector. Almost 300 <strong>Sisters</strong> volunteer with our own institutions and countless others. Your<br />
contributions to the <strong>Sisters</strong>’ Ministry Fund enable the continued ministry <strong>of</strong> our <strong>Sisters</strong> in all these areas.<br />
Education<br />
Traditionally, <strong>Dominican</strong>s have spread the Good News through education for all ages. From preschool<br />
children to adults, in grade schools and high schools, in colleges and universities, many students have experienced<br />
the <strong>Sisters</strong>’ dedication to learning and their providing hope and enlightenment through an ongoing<br />
pursuit <strong>of</strong> Truth.<br />

Sr. Mary Catherine Hilkert brings her strong<br />
<strong>Dominican</strong> identity to bear in her research and<br />
work with both undergraduate and graduate students<br />
as theology pr<strong>of</strong>essor and director <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Master <strong>of</strong> Theological Studies program at Notre<br />
Dame University. Specializing in contemporary<br />
systematic theology, she has particular interest in<br />
theological anthropology, feminist theology, and<br />
theologies <strong>of</strong> preaching. She is currently working<br />
on a second book on theology and preaching titled<br />
Words <strong>of</strong> Spirit and Life, based on her recent<br />
Lyman Beecher Lectures at Yale University.<br />
