<strong>Job</strong> Summary<br />
This position oversees the daily operations of the college’s Physical Therapy Assistant<br />
(PTA) Associate Degree program. The Program Coordinator is responsible for<br />
developing and maintaining the college’s PTA curriculum; hiring, coaching, and<br />
disciplining faculty and associated program staff; coaching and counseling students in the<br />
PTA program; developing and maintaining community relationships; and supporting the<br />
mission of Bryan College. The coordinator must possess excellent interpersonal and<br />
leadership skills, organization and planning abilities, and the ability to coach a wide<br />
spectrum of individuals based on the goals and objectives of their position or role to<br />
successful outcomes.<br />
Essential Functions<br />
• Developing and maintaining curriculum in compliance with state and national<br />
accrediting bodies.<br />
• Developing and maintaining community relationships and involvement in the<br />
planning and improvement of the program.<br />
• Hiring and training skilled faculty in the skills of instructional method and<br />
techniques<br />

• Ensure the timely submission of all required documentation to internal and<br />
external stakeholders.<br />
• Teaching and mentoring students in the PTA program.<br />
• Following and enforcing all college policies and procedures.<br />
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.<br />
<strong>Job</strong> Requirements and Qualifications<br />
Education: Masters<br />
Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):<br />
Licensure as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapy Assistant<br />
Knowledge Requirements:<br />
• Knowledge of the scope and practice of the physical therapy assistant.<br />
• Ability to conduct classroom instruction using both lecture and demonstration in<br />
the skills and functions of the PTA.<br />
• Ability to conduct classroom instruction using both lecture and demonstration in<br />
the associated sciences and qualitative and quantitative reasoning skills associated<br />
with the field of allied health and PTA.<br />
• Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.<br />
• Ability to train, monitor performance, and conduct corrective action with faculty,<br />
staff, and students.<br />
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other employees,<br />
community partners, and other external stakeholders.<br />
Experience:<br />
• 5 years of current clinical experience as a PT or PTA with clients in various<br />
stages of lifespan; with clients with cognitive impairments; and with clients<br />

equiring the use of orthotics. (Current clinical experience is defined as occurring<br />
with the last year.)<br />
• Experience conducting educational activities requiring the use of formal<br />
presentation and/or classroom techniques totaling a minimum of 100 hours.<br />
• Experience in human resources and/or fiscal management.<br />
Other Information<br />
• Candidates must be capable of carrying out the activities of the PTA for the<br />
purposes of demonstrating to students and assisting with the movement of<br />
equipment in the classroom or laboratory setting.<br />
• Flexible with work schedule based on the needs of the faculty, staff, and students<br />
in the program.<br />
