eat Year ear for West est Suburban Alumni Chapter<br />

The West Suburban Alumni Chapter closed <strong>2010</strong> with its 5 th Annual<br />
End of the Year Banquet on November 18 th . The Chapter returned to<br />
the Flame Restaurant in Countryside for the gala event. Featured activities<br />
for the evening included the initiation of Adam Wirtz into the Fraternity,<br />
presentation of the Annual State of the Fraternity address by District XI<br />
Justice John Norris, presentation of the Anthony A. DiGrazia Scholarships,<br />
Presentation of Outstanding Member Awards and election of Chapter<br />
Officers for 20<strong>11</strong>.<br />
Six $500.00 scholarships were presented by the DiGrazia Scholarship<br />
program which recognizes law student members for their service to the<br />
Fraternity and the Community. This year’s recipients were: Preston Brown<br />
(Dooley), Erica Inendino-Menze (LaFollette), Desiree Lauricella (Lincoln),<br />
Daniel Powell (Lincoln); Michele Reed (Webster), and Ian Rexroad (Story).<br />
The Award for Outstanding Alumni member was presented to Lincoln<br />
Chapter Treasurer Gloria Tsotsos who had been recognized earlier in the<br />
year as the Fraternity’s Outstanding Alumni Chapter Treasurer. The Award<br />
for Outstanding Student Member went to Heather Darsie (Dooley) for<br />
her continued support of the West Suburban Alumni Chapter.<br />
Officers and Board members elected for the 20<strong>11</strong> year were: Justice<br />
Joseph F. Emmerth IV (Story), Vice Justice B.J. Maley (Webster), Clerk<br />
Rachael A. Stokas (West Suburban), Treasurer Gloria C. Tsotsos (Lincoln),<br />
Marshal Vytenis “Vito” Kirvelaitis (Magruder), Board Member Peter C.<br />
Bastianen (West Suburban Alumni), Board Member Carmel Huseman<br />
(West Suburban Alumni), Board Member Mike Huseman (West Suburban<br />
Alumni), and Board Member Staci Rhoads (Franklin).<br />
The event was a great finish to an even greater year for the Chapter<br />
which received multiple awards and recognition from the<br />
Fraternity for its programming and officers. Other recent events<br />
included the Chapter’s Second Annual Summer Luau which<br />
featured a tropical buffet and live hula dancers and the Chapter’s<br />
first ever Oktoberfest. The Oktoberfest Celebration included a<br />
traditional German feast in a beer tent at Schnitzel Platz<br />
Restaurant in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.<br />
The Chapter’s new officers and board members have already<br />
met and an incredible calendar of programs is being planned for<br />
20<strong>11</strong>. The West Suburban Alumni Chapter serves the Western<br />
Suburbs of Chicago, Illinois (Western Cook, DuPage, and Kane<br />
