We recognize th<strong>at</strong> the strong Home Educ<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
community in <strong>Palm</strong> <strong>Beach</strong> has diverse needs<br />
and requires flexibility. In the <strong>Palm</strong> <strong>Beach</strong> franchise<br />
<strong>of</strong> Florida Virtual <strong>School</strong>, we are able to<br />
tailor needs to local families. Our teachers are<br />
all certified, highly qualified, <strong>FLVS</strong> trained and<br />
they all live in <strong>Palm</strong> <strong>Beach</strong> <strong>County</strong>. <strong>The</strong>y are<br />
available for parent meetings, extension activities<br />
and field trips. Our core teachers are all full<br />
-time virtual, available throughout the day to<br />
conference and assist students as needed.<br />
Home Educ<strong>at</strong>ion students who sign up for<br />
classes in <strong>FLVS</strong> <strong>at</strong> <strong>Palm</strong> <strong>Beach</strong> maintain all flexibilty<br />
as mand<strong>at</strong>ed by Florida legisl<strong>at</strong>ion. <strong>The</strong>y<br />
are not required to register as a PB<strong>District</strong> student<br />
and they are not required to take st<strong>at</strong>e<br />
assessments. <strong>The</strong>y are allowed to try out and/<br />
or particip<strong>at</strong>e in extracurricular activities <strong>at</strong> their<br />
neighborhood school. <strong>The</strong>y may enroll in any<br />
course th<strong>at</strong> is a requirement <strong>of</strong> an extracurricular<br />
activity in which they particip<strong>at</strong>e.<br />

HOME<br />
EDUCATION<br />
For families th<strong>at</strong> want a traditional high<br />
school diploma, parents can request to transition<br />
their students to our online high<br />
school diploma program. Interested parents<br />
should call Jason Smith, Guidance Counselor<br />
<strong>at</strong> <strong>Palm</strong> <strong>Beach</strong> Virtual <strong>School</strong> by the beginning<br />
<strong>of</strong> the 11th grade year.<br />
<strong>FLVS</strong> in <strong>Palm</strong> <strong>Beach</strong> provides home educ<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
families with aditional resources to access as<br />
needed during their children’s secondary<br />
school years (grades 6-12). When students are<br />
enrolled in courses through <strong>FLVS</strong> in <strong>Palm</strong><br />
<strong>Beach</strong>, they are able to access additonal enrichment<br />
s<strong>of</strong>tware to further support their<br />
home school experience, particip<strong>at</strong>e in local<br />
field trips with other virtual educ<strong>at</strong>ion students<br />
and access <strong>Palm</strong> <strong>Beach</strong> Virtual’s guidance<br />
