A SMARTPOOL ® IS MORE THAN JUST A POOL

SmartPools ® makes all the conventional ideas you had
about a pool…..well conventional. An idea so revolutionary,
that it completely turns the concept of a pool on its head.
The smallest SmartPools ® takes up very little space, all of
just 13.5 sqm.
You would think that a pool needs a big palatial
house. It does not.
The SmartPool ® can fit into a room, patio, balcony, or
porch.
You would think that a pool requires astronomical
quantities of water. It does not.
Our smallest size at SmartPools ® needs just 9000 liters,
most importantly you do not need to keep changing and
refilling it!
You would think that a pool is tough to build. It is
not.
The SmartPool ® Arena one-piece pool is made of advanced
composite materials so it does not require tons of concrete
or tedious water proofing methods or civil works. No
wonder it costs much less than a conventional pool. And
interestingly it can be installed in a few days by pool dealer
or homeowner above or below ground!
You would think that a pool is static. It is not.
The SmartPool ® is not just a swimming pool. Its patented
technology called Laminar Aqua Propulsion System (LAPS)
generates real river like currents that are powerful but

SMARTPOOLS ® TECHNOLOGY

The SmartPool ® is the world’s first swimming solution that
can generate real river smooth like currents with variable
speed. Our patented technology, LAPS (Laminar Aqua
Propulsion System) is derived from several years of research
and testing. It can move up to* 30,000 litres of water per
minute generating a unique water wave. This makes the
SmartPool ® substantially different from conventional
static pools.
What is laminar flow?
Laminar flow, sometimes known as streamline flow, occurs
when a liquid flows in parallel layers, with no disruption
between the layers. At low velocities the fluid tends to flow
without lateral mixing and adjacent layers slide past one
another like playing cards. In non-scientific terms laminar
flow is ‘smooth’ while turbulent flow is ‘rough’.
Silent and reliable!
Using a 7.5 HP Hitachi motor enables the LAPS system
to operate quietly and efficiently. The motor supplied
requires a three phase electrical supply but using a special
inverter we are able to convert the SmartPool ® system
into a domestic single phase electrical supply. Having the
ability to convert the power means the motor is not under
any strain and will give many years of reliable service and
enjoyment.

Conventional swim jet systems can be unstable and incur
too much turbulence and eddying.

16” propeller, our swim current is wider than
your body, deeper than your stroke, free of turbulence and

2. The average standard deviation (SD) of the whole test
was 0.122. This low standard deviation indicates that
the real time velocity samples (1 per second) tended to
be very close to the average over a 30 second period.
Therefore, there was a high quality of measurements
over the sampling period indicating a low variability in
the flow and that the probe was held steady during the
measurement.
3. The minimum velocity requirement of 1.2m/s was
reached at a motor speed of 600RPM, however this
velocity was more consistently seen at 650RPM.
RSHydro certifies that the performance of the above listed flow
technology has been certified using test equipment of known accuracy.
This certificate confirms that the Laminar Aqua Propulsion System
technology generates the minimum velocity requirement of 1.2 metres
per second at a motor speed of 600RPM to a maximum of 1.72 metres
per second at a motor speed of 800RPM
Important Note
Although 800 RPM is obtainable sustained duration maybe limited to
inverter tolerances on a domestic supply. Caution at this speed should
also be advised if used by weak swimmers or children. Loss of water
may also occur.
