Debate on Address
Debate on Address
and the government’s desire to
give and equip people with skills
which will enable them to manage
their lives by securing employment
and venturing into their own
businesses. We also applaud the
government for observing our
cultural values as this now give
us our national identity as
Zimbabweans. Of course our
traditional leaders play a major
role in guiding us culturally.
The establishment of the
National Youth Data Bank is a
noble idea, which we must support
as a nation. Mr. Speaker, a nation
without dedicated, skilled and
disciplined youths is like a farmer
without seeds to sow. Therefore,
the Ministry of Youth should see
to it that our youths are fully
capacitated with all available
resources so as to establish a solid
base for the future generation.
Mr Speaker, I appreciate that
the people of Zimbabwe have now
come to realize the challenges and
results of gender based violent and
the abuse of children. This
unreasonable culture Mr. Speaker
can only be put to a halt if
everyone puts him or herself into
the victim’s position, and if a
person would, before giving in to
that extreme, to attack a wife or
husband, ask one’s self, “what if
this was me, my daughter or son?”
Grown ups who enjoy abusing
minors, should if found out be
given stiff penalties.
Mr. Speaker, Zimbabwe must
be applauded for its concern about
HIV and AIDS and all the
measures it is taking in educating
people about this deadly pandemic.
We the people of this nation should
not only look at the government
to provide information and drugs
for this menace whilst we keep on
engaging in unfaithful behavior.
We all know how the disease is
spread, why then should we expect
the government to conquer it when
we are so careless with our lives.
We should consciously thank the
government for the effort it puts
in procuring A.R.Vs to boost the
immune system of those already
infected. Mr. Speaker, we as a
nation are disturbed that our
children, after having been highly
educated and qualified in crucial
areas like medicine, end up
running away from the country
for greener pastures. We hope that
