There are 28 boreholes and 88% are fully functional. The ward needs an additional 4<br />
boreholes.<br />
Income Generating Project:<br />
There are 6 income generating projects which received funding from the Ministry of<br />
Youth, Gender and Employment Creation. Three projects are in the manufacturing<br />
sector, 2 are agro based and 1 offers a service. Five of the projects received funding in<br />
2001 and the other one started in 1998.<br />
Ward 4<br />
<strong>This</strong> is a communal ward, which <strong>has</strong> a male councillor and <strong>has</strong> a <strong>population</strong> of 5 209<br />
people. The chief in the ward is known as Gwebu and there is also a campfire<br />
programme in the area.<br />
Education:<br />
There are 4 primary schools known as Bonjeni, Mbizingwe, Mtshede and Nsezi. The<br />
schools are owned by council. All the teachers at these schools have been trained except<br />
at Nsezi, where there are 7 trained and 1 untrained teachers. The secondary, Nsezi is<br />
owned by council and offers education up to O’ level. The school was built in 1984 and<br />
<strong>has</strong> 9 trained and 4 untrained teachers.<br />
Health Facilities:<br />
There is 1 clinic in this ward known as Mbizingwe. The centre is owned by<br />
government. It is manned by 2 nurses and 1 nurse aide. The clinic <strong>has</strong> 4 general and 1<br />
maternity beds.<br />
Veterinary Facilities:<br />
There are 4 dip tanks in this ward known as Sikhoveni, Ntola, Nsezi and<br />
Ntabenmnyama. The animal health centres for the ward are known as Mawabeni and<br />
RA1.
