Well, colle is the French word for glue and Pablo
Picasso, one of the world’s most famous artists,
coined the term “collage” about a hundred years ago
when he began gluing paper clippings and other
materials such as oilcloth and wallpaper to canvasses
and then painting overtop. Picasso created a new art
genre that became very popular and is known today
as the collage.
