Location of Event
The Walk/Run will be held on the
Osaugie Trail, Superior, Wisconsin right
across from Barker’s Island on East US
Highway 2.
Walk/Run Route
Starting on the Barker’s Island East
Causeway, we will walk/run to
McDonald’s on East 2nd Street, turn
around and come back to the starting
point.
Annual Shelter Raffle
The drawing will be held immediately
following the race. Tickets are available
until the start of the event.
First Prize: $500 Gift Certificate to
Campbell’s Do-It-Center
Many other prizes available too.

to the Shelter or Superior Animal
Hospital & Boarding Suites to get your
tickets and pledge forms.
In addition to the raffle, we will have a
craft table with various items to
purchase. Be prepared to do some early
holiday shopping for yourself or a friend.
Funds raised through this event are used
to house, feed, and care for the animals
brought to the Humane Society of
Douglas County each day. Your
participation in this event is a major part
of our funding for the year and is greatly
appreciated.

training your dog or dog grooming.
Ask the experts any questions you
may have.
9:00 am Walk/Run begins
Drawing for the Annual Raffle to follow
the race.
Event Fees
Individual $25.00
Family $50.00
Includes a race T-Shirt for you and
bandana for your dog(s).
Pledge Prizes
Want to be the top dog on your block?
Raise Pledges—it’s fun and easy. Talk
to your family, friends, neighbors, and
co-workers. Record your pledges on
the Pledge Form on the reverse side of
this brochure. All pledges are due the
day of the event or may be turned in
early. Prizes will be awarded to the
individual adult and youth collecting the
most pledges. If each participant
collects $50 or more in pledges in
addition to the event fee, you will
receive a race sweatshirt too!

Rules of this Event
1. Dogs must have current proof of
rabies vaccination at the time of
registration.
2. Children under the age of 13 must be
accompanied by an adult.
3. Your dog(s) must be leashed at all
times (6 ft. leash or shorter—no flex
leads).
4. Individuals may walk up to 2 dogs.
5. You are responsible for cleaning up
after your dog(s).
Please remember to walk/run at a
moderate pace (consider the weather and
age of your dog). Dogs may be close
together at times. Please take this into
account when entering your best friend.
The event director reserves the right to
refuse any dog that may be dangerous or
disruptive to the event.

Cause for the Paws Walk/Run 2011, I hereby for myself,
administrations, heirs waive and release any and all right and
claims for damages I have against the organizers of this
event, their associates, and representatives. I also agree that
any sponsors may subsequently use for publicity purposes
my name and photographs of me participating in this event
without obligation or liability to me. I understand that entry
fees I pay are non-refundable. I certify that I am physically fit,
as well as my dog, to participate in this event.
