The brand
Over the last several years The Peel Group has diversified into many
commercial arenas.
This diversification has prompted the need for a clear and easily understood
group structure.
In order that the Peel brand is maintained, promoted and remains associated
with quality, reliability and stability in every area of our businesses, we have
simplified our branding, and made it a more flexible and easily recognisable
graphic.
The Peel logo family is made up of two colours (red and
black). These are broken down below into their Pantone
CMYK mixes, single colour Pantone references, RGB
and Hex references.
Our aim is to elevate the individual businesses as well as an awareness of the
Peel brand in both the commercial and public sectors and present a unified
group of companies.
There is now a white-out version of the graphic. This will allow the designer a
wider degree of flexibility in their work.
In practical terms, the new brand is far more robust.
CMYK 94m 100y
PMS 1795
RGB R216 G33 B35
Hex d82123
At reduced sizes the graphic maintains legibility and clarity.
For internal use in documents such as Word and Powerpoint we have
produced a set of .jpg files which are 300dpi RGB Photoshop files.
These are high quality whilst maintaining a size that can be easily e-mailed.
Black
It is important to note at this point that a VECTOR.eps file has been created
which is intended for professional studio usage.
These files have been distributed to the Marketing Department and are
available on request. Eventually these will be available as downloads from the
Peel website.
The following brand guideline is designed to help you achieve a more
focussed and representative image of The Peel Group and its
associated divisions.

The Legacy
Who is Peel Energy?
Scout Moor Wind Farm will play an important part in
helping deliver the UK’s key strategy on tackling
climate change and cutting emissions of greenhouse
gases.
The average wind farm will “pay back” the energy used
in its manufacture within six months of operation.
Peel will provide £500,000 over the life time of the
wind farm to help local landowners create bio-diverse
habitats on land surrounding Scout Moor.
This could enhance up to 500 hectares of land – the
size of 700 football pitches.
Peel Energy is at the forefront of delivering low carbon
energy for the UK.
We have a balanced portfolio of more than 3 gigawatts
in generation or development including wind, tidal
power, energy from waste, biomass and multi-fuel
power plants with carbon capture and storage.
That's enough to power the average electricity needs
of 3 million homes in North West England. Or put
another way, that's enough for every home in the city
regions of Glasgow, Liverpool and Manchester
combined.
Peel Energy is part of the Peel Group, a leading real
estate, transport and infrastructure investment
company with assets under management of £6bn,
employing some 5,000 people.
Our aim is to gradually phase out this
individual branding method on some
developments. The purpose of this is to
create a strong and enduring Peel brand.
The Peel brand must always be considered
Distinct areas of
branding
UK real estate, transport and
There are four distinct areas of branding in
this guide. They are brochure/promotional
literature, press graphics, display/ exhibition
and web/digital presentations.
The application of the brand varies slightly
in all four areas.
infrastructure group Peel Holdings’
subsidiary Peel Energy has joined
forces with Denmark’s biggest
energy company, DONG Energy to
explore the possibility of gaining
planning permission for a multifuel
power station at Hunterston in
Ayrshire, Scotland. The state-ofthe-art
Peel and DONG Energy: Developing
solutions for the UK’s future energy needs
UK real estate, transport and infrastructure group Peel Holdings’
subsidiary Peel Energy has joined forces with Denmark’s biggest
energy company, DONG Energy to explore the possibility of
gaining planning permission for a multi-fuel power station at
Hunterston in Ayrshire, Scotland. The state-of-the-art facility
would be fuelled by coal and up to 15%biomass, such as wood,
delivering the highest thermal efficiencies.
The Peel and DONG Energy joint venture has been formed with the
aim of developing infrastructure to generate much-needed electricity
for the UK. Within a period of eight years Scotland is likely to have
insufficient generating capacity to meet its requirements for base-load
electricity – the constant, reliable supply that cannot be provided by
renewables such as wind and hydro. Peel and DONG Energy are
exploring the possibility of a 1600 MW multi-fuel power station which
would provide electricity to meet the needs of Scottish homes and
businesses. This powerstation could provide enough electricity to
meet the average needs of up to 2 mi lion homes.
The proposed site, next to the existing nuclear reactor site and the
coal import terminal at Hunterston, is considered ideal for a new
power station development. Clydeport, a sister
company of Peel Energy, owns the port
which currently feeds a number of
UK power stations with coal.
Peel and DONG Energy are proposing to build a power station where
the coal comes in, eliminating the need to transport mi lions of tonnes
of coal a year across the UK. The proposed power station would also
utilise Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology at the earliest
opportunity – an innovative new technology that can capture up to
90% of the CO2produced by the power station, enabling it to provide
clean, secure energy for decades.
The local economy would benefit from the development with up to
1,500 people employed during the construction phase and up to 150
directly, and many more indirectly, being employed once the site is
operational.
DONG Energy is playing a leading role in the development of CCS
technology. The designs for the Hunterston site are being drawn up
to enable CCSto be insta led at the earliest opportunity. In addition to
their plans for Hunterston, the Peel and DONG Energyteam is one of
the three bidders remaining in the UK Government’s Department
ofEnergy and Climate Change (DECC) CCS Demonstration
Competition.
The project team wi l refine its plans fo lowing consultation with the
local community and other stakeholders in preparation for submitting
a planning application for a Carbon Capture Ready (CCR) power
station in summer 2009.

Peel and DONG Energy: Developing
solutions for the UK’s future energy needs
UK real estate, transport and infrastructure group Peel Holdings’
subsidiary Peel Energy has joined forces with Denmark’s biggest
energy company, DONG Energy to explore the possibility of
gaining planning permission for a multi-fuel power station at
Peel and DONG Energy are proposing to build a power station where
the coal comes in, eliminating the need to transport millions of tonnes
of coal a year across the UK. The proposed power station would also
utilise Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology at the earliest
Hunterston in Ayrshire, Scotland. The state-of-the-art facility
opportunity – an innovative new technology that can capture up to
Anthony Hatton (Marine)
would be fuelled by coal and up to 15%biomass, such as wood,
delivering the highest thermal efficiencies.
90% of the CO2produced by the power station, enabling it to provide
clean, secure energy for decades.
The Peel and DONG Energy joint venture has been formed with the
The local economy would benefit from the development with up to
aim of developing infrastructure to generate much-needed electricity
for the UK. Within a period of eight years Scotland is likely to have
insufficient generating capacity to meet its requirements for base-load
electricity – the constant, reliable supply that cannot be provided by
renewables such as wind and hydro. Peel and DONG Energy are
exploring the possibility of a 1600 MW multi-fuel power station which
would provide electricity to meet the needs of Scottish homes and
businesses. This powerstation could provide enough electricity to
meet the average needs of up to 2 million homes.
1,500 people employed during the construction phase and up to 150
directly, and many more indirectly, being employed once the site is
operational.
DONG Energy is playing a leading role in the development of CCS
technology. The designs for the Hunterston site are being drawn up
to enable CCSto be installed at the earliest opportunity. In addition to
their plans for Hunterston, the Peel and DONG Energyteam is one of
the three bidders remaining in the UK Government’s Department
ofEnergy and Climate Change (DECC) CCS Demonstration
