New York
New York Marriott Downtown, New York City | October 22 - 23, 2008
A private equity international conference

presents:
A gathering of
experts
Building on the success of our annual Infrastructure
Investor Forum in Berlin, which demonstrated the
increasing interest in the global opportunities provided by
this burgeoning asset class, PEI is delighted to announce
the North American debut of Infrastructure Investor Forum:
New York on October 22-23, 2008.
The global infrastructure market is booming – it is estimated that
nearly $40 billion was raised in 2007 for infrastructure funds, an 84
percent increase over 2006’s $17.9 billion raised, and a 633 percent
increase over the roughly $5.2 billion raised for such funds in
2005. Industry analysts believe that trillions of dollars are required
to maintain, improve and expand infrastructure to meet the needs
of growing populations around the globe. While governments have
historically bankrolled the majority of infrastructure projects, private
capital is quickly being raised to meet the increasing demand
worldwide.
This creates an unprecedented opportunity for private equity fund
managers and limited partners who want to expand their investment
portfolio to invest their money in this new asset class that
promises attractive and stable returns on investment. Despite the

isks of investing in a relatively new asset class, there are many
elements of infrastructure deals that make them attractive as a
long term investment especially for public pension funds. Amid
increasingly volatile market conditions, the counter-cyclical nature
of infrastructure investments makes them even more desirable.
To succeed in this market, funds will need to combine increasingly
large sums of long-term capital with specialist approaches to
investment and asset management.
Our inaugural global infrastructure forum in New York will look at
infrastructure from the perspectives of both fund managers and
investors. Seasoned practitioners will discuss specific aspects of
private equity infrastructure investing in detailed panel and interactive
workshop sessions.
By bringing together a world-class roster of speakers and by delivering
a rigorous, well-structured agenda the Forum will not only
deliver vital information and market intelligence but will also facilitate
networking opportunities and dialogue amongst key professionals
involved in the infrastructure industry globally.
