About the video pack<br />

The video pack includes:<br />

a 9 minute video with natural<br />

stop points throughout so that<br />

you can combine a showing of<br />

the video with discussion<br />

and/or demonstration<br />

a pack of 15 support cards<br />

containing:<br />

● background information on hot<br />

drink scalds including why young<br />

children are a high-risk group,<br />

how hot is too hot?, how do scald<br />

accidents typically happen?<br />

● ideas for discussion groups<br />

● easy, step-by-step,<br />

demonstrations to enhance<br />

parent and carer sessions<br />

● ideas for further activities<br />

a sample bright, colourful,<br />

easy-to-read single sheet ‘fancy<br />

a cuppa?’ leaflet with key safety<br />

messages and basic first aid as<br />

shown on the video. You can give<br />

it out at the end of sessions, leave it<br />

in clinic waiting rooms or hand it to<br />

parents and carers at home.<br />

How can the pack<br />

help me in my work?<br />

The pack is designed to provide<br />

practitioners with a flexible resource<br />

that can be used:<br />

in a wide range of educational<br />

or discussion groups using<br />

the comprehensive support<br />

materials provided<br />

as an information video that<br />

can be played in waiting rooms<br />

and other settings (an hour-long,<br />

loop format tape is also available)<br />

for training those working<br />

in childcare.<br />

How do I order?<br />

To order the video pack (in either<br />
