Rosebud Elementary School<br />

Other 2011–12 Highlights...<br />

• Rosebud experienced achievement gains in language arts, reading,<br />

science, and social studies, with many grade levels performing<br />

above the state and the district averages for the percentage of<br />

students meeting or exceeding grade-level expectations.<br />

• More than 96 students received intervention in the afterschool<br />

academic intervention program funded by Title I.<br />

• Rosebud Elementary School was recognized as a Reaching<br />

Higher School in the Environmental Achievement Awards<br />

sponsored by <strong>Gwinnett</strong> Clean & Beautiful. The recognition<br />

highlights the school’s outstanding efforts to build and sustain<br />

a green and healthy program and to instill environmental<br />

stewardship in our learning community.<br />

• A total of 502 students earned Principal’s Honor Roll or<br />

Honor Roll recognition throughout the school year.<br />

• A total of 230 students had perfect attendance throughout the<br />

school year.<br />

• More than 30 students participated in the Infinite Engineers<br />

Club where students participated in real-life applications of<br />

mathematics and science, and were educated on important<br />

skills such as problem-solving, critical-thinking, basic operations,<br />

and creative scientific inquiries.<br />

• Annual Perception Survey results reflect that parents and<br />

students are satisfied with Rosebud and feel that the school<br />

provides a safe learning environment for students.<br />

• Rosebud purchased additional technology resources to incorporate<br />

technology into the classroom as teaching and learning<br />

tools.<br />

• Through generous donations to the United Way and Relay For<br />

Life, Rosebud staff and students continued their commitment<br />

to support sustainable change in education and the community.<br />

• During the week of Early Release Days, teachers and parents<br />

participated in 892 conferences in October and 893 conferences<br />

in February.<br />

• Rosebud students performed at high levels in the Witzzle Pro<br />

competition.<br />

• The Rosebud Chorus performed at an <strong>Gwinnett</strong> Gladiators<br />

hockey game.<br />
