PCC Fall Golf Classic<br />
Thirty-six teams competed in <strong>the</strong><br />
Eleventh Annual PCC Fall Golf<br />
Classic at Greenville Country Club<br />
on Oc<strong>to</strong>ber 2. The event netted<br />
$19,840.58.<br />

Russell participated in <strong>the</strong> 2008<br />
PCC Fall Golf Classic.<br />
Lights of Knowledge<br />
Lights purchased in memory or in<br />
honor of special people for this<br />
annual tree-lighting ceremony raised<br />
$1,203.89. The star on <strong>the</strong> 2008 tree<br />
was dedicated in memory of Karen<br />
Perry, a former Nursing student and<br />
SGA President.<br />

PCC Scholarship<br />
Auction was held<br />
February 17 at<br />
Rock Springs<br />
Center. The event<br />
featured more than<br />
430 attendees and<br />
raised $61,541.03.<br />
Veterans Salute<br />
The college honored <strong>the</strong><br />
nation’s war veterans with a<br />
November 10 ceremony in <strong>the</strong><br />
Charles Coburn Center. The<br />
event—PCC’s 11th Veterans<br />
Day celebration—featured a<br />
speech by Greenville At<strong>to</strong>rney<br />
and veteran Frank Cassiano,<br />
Jr. JROTC students from all<br />
six <strong>Pitt</strong> County high schools<br />
participated as did PCC Basic<br />
Law Enforcement cadets and<br />
<strong>the</strong> ECU color guard.<br />
Down East Holiday Show<br />
The 2008 Down East Holiday Show was<br />
<strong>the</strong> most successful in <strong>the</strong> fundraiser’s<br />
seven-year his<strong>to</strong>ry. With more than<br />
100 vendors selling a wide variety of<br />
merchandise, a record 8,300 shoppers<br />
attended and generated more than<br />
$62,981.86. Proceeds from this event<br />
provide scholarships and educational<br />
activities for PCC students.<br />

Shoppers were able <strong>to</strong> select from a<br />
variety of gifts, food items, decorations, and<br />
clothing <strong>to</strong> kick off <strong>the</strong> holiday season at<br />
<strong>the</strong> 7th Annual Down East Holiday Show<br />
in November of 2008.<br />
Bidding is fast and furious during <strong>the</strong> 5th Annual PCC Scholarship Auction held at Rock<br />
Springs Center.<br />
Academic Excellence Awards Reception<br />
Held in <strong>the</strong> Goess Student Center March 27, <strong>the</strong> event celebrated<br />
<strong>the</strong> scholastic achievements of 50 PCC students. Both Rachel Barnum<br />
and Hea<strong>the</strong>r Moore received <strong>the</strong> President’s Award, and Courtney<br />
Evans won <strong>the</strong> President’s Scholarship. Adam Till and Keoshia Allen<br />
were selected <strong>to</strong> receive State Academic Excellence Awards.<br />
