Korinʼs Masanobu VG10 7-inch
SANTOKU knife is both lightweight
and easy to grip, thanks to an
octagonal pressed-wood shaft. Its
nickel-silver bolsters are shaped by
the same technique thatʼs used on
Formula One racing cars; $274.
British manufacturers Wild & Wolf
pilfered the V&Aʼs William Morris
hammers ($20), trowels ($20), and
tape measures ($12) into stylish
accessories. Available in Cray (shown
Domestic asked designers to go crazy
with graphics for SURFACE 01, a
collection of white, lidded porcelain
Alessiʼs FRUIT BASKET TEA SET, a
rare foray into product design by
SANAA, finds the Japanese architects
abandoning linearity in favor of
squat apple shapes. A corresponding
set of mocha cups and spoons have
branchlike handles that mimic
the slim tip of each stainless-steel
container; $860 for the set.
