Quality Recording Equipment PAGE 26 Plex Gage Integration The Plex Quality System eliminates cumbersome manual data entry, and reduces the likelihood of introducing errors from transposed data. Plex integrates electronic equipped gages directly via a USB or RS-232 communication port using thirdparty PC wedge software. Hardware selection depends on the type and quantity of electronic gages in use at the station. Solutions are as simple as attaching one gage directly to the USB/RS232 port with the appropriate cable; or attaching multiple gages, a multiplexor box or additional cables. The third-party wedge software automatically translates and formats data from the USB/RS-232 port. The operator selects which gage to read using a simple dial, pushbutton, remote switch or foot pedal switch – whatever best suits your application.
