I just wanted to start off by introducing myself. My name is Adam Jirovsky and
I am the new Bowhunter rep. A little history about myself. I grew up around
the Seward area till I was 19. I then joined the Air Force in 2000 and during my
time in the Air Force I traveled around and shot a lot of National 3D shoots in
many states. In March of this year I got out of the Air Force after 12 years to
peruse a lifelong dream and travel around and shoot archery. I shot everywhere
from Washington to Florida. I recently took a job in Seward working at Hughes
Brothers on 2 nd shift.
I am currently in the process of buying a house by Malcolm. I have been shooting
archery for as long as I can remember. When I was 14, I took Bowhunters
ed in Lincoln and had my field day at the Prairie Bowmen outdoor range. As a
young archer I was in awe. I thought that it was the coolest thing in the world.
I asked my dad if I could join and he told me no I can shoot at the house because
he wasn’t going to pay $95.00 for me to join. So ever since then I always
wanted to be a member of the Prairie bowmen. I have been members of ranges
in California, Montana, Florida and Georgia. I have been to dozens of ranges
and Prairie Bowmen in my opinion is one of the nicest ranges I have been to.
When I joined in March of this year I figured it was probably a couple hundred
dollars to join. When I was a member of a club in Florida and they charged
$250.00 and they didn’t have an indoor range. I was shocked to hear that it was
still the same $95.00 to join. I used the indoor and outdoor range a lot this past
summer. I’m sure a lot of you seen my car there. The White Toyota with Montana
plates. That’s me the tall skinny goofy looking guy shooting with a stool
wearing dress shoes standing in the sun shooting when it was 100 plus degrees
outside. Back to the membership price. In the survey that was emailed out people
complained about the price being too much. Well 5 years ago a top of the
line Mathews or Hoyt cost $700.00. Now they are over a $1000.00. The cost of
property taxes and gas and everything has gone up except the dues. One thing I
don’t want to see is this club go under. It is very near and dear to me. I shoot at
a professional level and utilize the indoor range as much as the outdoor range. I
would not be opposed to having the dues go up if needed. I think they should
but that’s just me I am willing to pay more. I mean the cost of everything else
has. I just don’t want to see the club go under.
I am also willing to help anyone out with equipment or any question about archery
you have please feel free to contact me at any time. I own everything an
archery shop has and then some to work on bows. I even make my own strings.
I will help any club member out free of charge as long as it doesn’t cost me
equipment. I can build very good strings cheap for club members too. My
number is 406-750-1850. It’s a Montana number. I will be changing it to a local
number when I move into my house. Please feel free to contact me. I am
always looking for people to travel and shoot with. So call me, Tim Hendrix.
