tournaments, locker rent, State Games and youth programs to provide opportunities for our membership and to help cover the additional costs of our ranges not covered by our dues. When we hold tournaments and have other programs we hope that we generate more income than they cost. This additional income also helps offset our communications costs like the newsletter, fliers, and the website as well as club awards. I hope this helps those who wonder where we spend the money to better understand. We need all of our club members….and we need them to all pay the “shooting for the future” assessment! The more support our members give to the club, the more the club can provide for the members. When the Boosalis archery range was built many of our members elected to shoot there instead of our Galloway Range, for various reasons. Some members dropped out of the club because they now had a free outdoor range where they could shoot! Our club has a Visionary committee to look at what possibilities we have for the future of the club. Those possibilities could include things like the sale of our current outdoor range, a different facility for indoor shooting, etc. I don’t believe we currently have anything on the table at this point, but they are always looking. If anyone has comments or questions about anything in this report, please call me….308- 440-9535, text me, send me an e-mail; tnauman@auroracoop.com., I will be the president till the December board meeting. We will have a new board for 2013 and they all want your input. We can’t fix things we don’t know about… complaining or grumbling about it, doesn’t fix anything! Thanks TOM T A R G E T R e p R e p o r t 2013 looks to be busy and exciting and the year that Prairie Bowmen is back in the target archery tournament world! In addition to hosting the Cornhusker State Summer Games, we will be hosting our annual Presidents Day Shoot in February, The State Indoor Target Tournament in March, The Iron Archer in June and the State Field/Hunter and Animal at the end of June. Plan on shooting or come out and volunteer to be a part of each event. We can always use help! Indoor target league will start on Tuesday January 8 th , 7:00 p.m. We will run a 5 week session of Fita/Vegas and then a 5 week session of NFAA. This year we will be charging $6.00 per night with $1.00 going into a prize fund. The more shooters we have, the more goes into the fund. You do not need to be a pro to shoot. Come on down and plan on having fun. If you are a beginner, there are always people willing to help you. Let’s see if we can’t fill the place up this year! I will do my best to get the weekly results on the website. The spider-web targets are in need of repair and that will happen as soon as we get the new material, which is on order. We may need some help with this, so an email will be sent out notifying the membership of a work day or night. This will be completed before leagues and tournaments start! We are also planning to relocate and update the thermostats for the furnaces. They will be relocated to an area where they cannot be shot. So far, members are doing a pretty good job of paying for their paper targets. Thank you to everyone that has been participating with this and please continue. Also, please make sure you clean up after yourself. Please put all used targets, and trash in the garbage, not on the floor or tables. Trent Allen is doing a raffle for a Rinehart 18-1 target. Tickets are $3.00 each or 4 for $10.00. Tickets will be sold at all tournaments, 3-d”s leagues, Joad and youth classes. Proceeds will go to the club. The drawing will be held on March 10 th at the State Indoor Target Tournament. Last but not least, is the upcoming Annual Prairie Bowmen Banquet. This year’s Banquet will be held on January 18 th at the Havelock Social Hall. A flier with all the details can be found in the newsletter!
