The Philanthropic Perspective There are certain similarities between Presbyterian Homes & Services’ volunteers and donors: • BOTH BELIEVE IN THE MISSION OF PHS • BOTH VALUE PHILANTHROPIC ACTIVITY • BOTH KNOW THAT THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS ARE VITAL • BOTH LIVE OUT THEIR FAITH IN VERY TANGIBLE WAYS Your gifts supporting the freedom to live well in a Presbyterian Homes community share your love whenever residents benefit from a chaplain’s care, a therapist’s guidance, a wellness trainer’s encouragement, companionship and fellowship of events, outings and activities, and when needed, personal financial support. Your generosity makes a difference and touches lives every day. Your gifts to Presbyterian Homes Foundation for… The Mission Benevolence support residents to remain in a PHS community even when they have outlived their financial resources. The Spiritual Life Fund ensure every resident, regardless of faith persuasion, has access to spiritual care from chaplains, and to spiritual programs. Our residents have identified this as one of the most important aspects of living in a PHS community. The Wellness Fund enable us to provide a wellness environment that can offer residents programs that support the goal of living independently and fully for as long as possible. Wellness programs encompass not only physical health, but emotional, spiritual, and financial health as well. The Unrestricted Fund allow PHS, with Board approval, to allocate funds where they are most needed and have the best chance to help put smiles in the eyes of our residents. This may include the ability to do some of the extras at one of our communities, such as adding a gazebo, planting new gardens, redecorating a social room, as well as covering some unexpected expenses. The PHS Board of Directors recently adopted a revised statement of mission, vision, and values. This provides a frame of reference to understand our purpose and actions, a tool for making policy decisions in the present and the future, a map for successful strategic planning, and a measure for our ministry. Our Mission The mission of Presbyterian Homes & Services is to enrich the lives of older adults through services and communities that reflect the love of God. Our Vision To provide more choices and opportunities for more older adults to live well. Our Values Compassion Demonstrating an awareness of each person’s needs, and doing what it takes to meet those needs. Christian Ministry Seeking inspirational wisdom.
