John Bozic, writing in the BSAP "Bulletin" (Aug 2004) recorded only 4 mint examples (one in the Australia Post<br />

collection) & 8 used (2 with Australia Post) and concluded "I place this variety in the same class of rarity as the 2½d<br />

Missing Fraction", which is catalogued at $30,000 mint & $12,500 used. Given that the so-called "Missing Fraction"<br />

is an ink-clogging variety and the "Bite" is a major plate flaw, we believe that this item should be rated higher than<br />

the more famous stamp. {Page 29.1}<br />
