or British 'RAF BASE PO/CEYLON' h/s in violet, also airmail cover overpaid with 9d tied by 'AIF FIELD PO/No 22'<br />

EGYPT: Annotated collection with an array of datestamps including a few in violet, many with 'ARMY POST'<br />

LABUAN: 1945 commercial airmail cover fashioned from a ledger page, to Tasmania with 3d tied by superb 'FIELD<br />

POST OFFICE/17JE45/037.' cds used at Labuan, boxed censor #3116 in violet, small faults. Proud 750 points.<br />

MALAYA: Annotated collection in album with many air covers at the 25c rate including some unusual makeups,<br />

'POSTAGE PAID/MALAYA' imprints - including a cutout used on cover - & meters, emergency use of "out-of-State"<br />

stamps including Perak 25c tied by 'ARMY/SIGNALS' cds, mostly with various Australian or Indian pattern FPO cds<br />

but we noticed two with 'NEE SOON/SINGAPORE' cds, etc. {Page 45.1} (113)<br />

NAURU: 1945 Ray Baldwin cover to Sydney with 3d x2 tied by a largely fine strike of 'AUST UNIT POSTAL<br />

STN/28NO45/31.' cds, rubber registration cachet endorsed "UPO 313" in red, minor blemishes, superb Sydney<br />

arrival b/s of 6DE45. One of the most desirable & significant datestamp rarities of the entire WWII field. Proud "N.S."<br />

(= Not Seen). [Collas at page 168 states "In September 1945 it was allocated to a detachment of 31/51 Btn sent to<br />

occupy and garrison Nauru". The remnants of the beleagured Japanese garrison surrendered on 13/9/1945 & were<br />

evacuated to Bougainville]{Page 45.2}<br />

NORTH AFRICA: Annotated covers from Tobruk, El Alamein etc with stampless, airmail & Active Service "green"<br />
