BIOGRAPHY<br />
<strong>Albert</strong> <strong>Moehring</strong> is the founder and Music Director of the highly<br />
acclaimed Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra (now in its 18 th season).<br />
<strong>Moehring</strong> developed a fledgling group of musicians into a highly skilled 75<br />
member professional symphonic orchestra. He is also widely sought after<br />
guest conductor performing classical, operatic and popular literature with<br />
many orchestras around the USA, Canada, Mexico and Asia.<br />
In 2003, Maestro <strong>Moehring</strong> spent three weeks traveling throughout<br />
Asia conducting the Hollywood Festival Orchestra. In the fall of 2005<br />
<strong>Moehring</strong> began conducting the State of Mexico Symphony Orchestra and<br />
the Guanajuato Symphony Orchestra and held workshops for the musicians.<br />
This affiliation continues to the present day. His popularity with the<br />
musicians and audiences, with seven standing ovations at one concert,<br />
resulted in continuing engagements with these orchestras plus additional<br />
invitations including the Mexico City Symphony Orchestra.<br />
Born in Amsterdam, Holland, <strong>Albert</strong> <strong>Moehring</strong> received his musical<br />
training, performance diploma/music degree at the prestigious Royal<br />
Conservatory of Music and University of Toronto in Canada. He pursued<br />
conducting studies and training at the Aspen School of Music in Aspen,<br />
Colorado. He has worked and studied with renowned conductors as Walter<br />
Susskind, Leonard Bernstein, Leonard Slatkin and Peter Maag. His past<br />
musical affiliations and engagements include the prestigious Metropolitan<br />
Opera Company in New York and the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto,<br />
Canada.<br />
His dedication and unique concept for programming has made the<br />
concert hall accessible to the entire community. His energy and passion<br />
coupled with his charismatic personality for the music has brought the<br />
Charlotte arts community to a new level of excellence and achievement.<br />
Maestro <strong>Moehring</strong> brings concert audiences the music they love ----<br />
innovative programming blending classic music and Broadway show tunes.<br />
Under his leadership, the Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra has experienced<br />
tremendous musical growth and earned the Philharmonic recognition as one<br />
of the finest orchestras in the Southeast United States and an outstanding<br />
asset to the Charlotte arts community.<br />
In 2000, <strong>Moehring</strong> was awarded the “Spirit Award” sponsored by the<br />
Charlotte Mint Museum on behalf of the City of Charlotte.
