AWARDS • Nomination for Ovation Award (National Television) • 2000 Spirit Award (Charlotte, NC) • Christmas Wonderland was submitted for an “Emmy” Award • Voted “Charlotte’s Best” Charlotte Magazine DUTIES PERFORMED AS MUSIC DIRECTOR • Artistic Development - A community arts leader; providing innovative artistic vision and leadership with ongoing artistic development of the orchestra; create and develop innovative programs in the classical and popular realm for each season; provide an educational outreach to schools and community; serve as the orchestra’s spokesperson in the Carolinas, as well as on radio and National television (PBS); served as International music ambassador to China and Mexico; develop long range artistic plans. • Orchestra Management - Audition orchestra members, both new and current; select and/or audition guest artists; conduct rehearsals and concerts; oversee and direct orchestra personnel. • Fund Raising – Develop and create fund raising events; create event budgets; document and create manuals for future events; participate in fund raising/outreach events; develop community and donor support; report to and work with the board of directors. • Board Development – Experienced in budgeting and presentations to board of orchestras needs; seek out and train new board members; close working relationship with entire board of directors and committees. DUTIES PERFORMED AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR As Executive Director, Albert Moehring was responsible for hiring, supervision and managing of all human and financial resources of the Charlotte Philharmonic Society. Under his financial oversight, the Society was able to fulfill its mission and achieve its goals for artistic excellence, financial stability, audience development, and community engagement. Moehring fostered positive relationships among the area public and private schools, area post-secondary institutions, and the community music schools. He nurtured productive relationships with government leaders, foundations, other arts organizations and a broad range of other non-profits. He continues to stay current with the latest trends, comparative data, innovations in orchestras and related activities. Albert provides the leadership, vision, and information necessary to allow the Board of Directors to establish policies and strategic plans for the continuing development of the organization. He also directed the organization’s development program and had oversight of the development plan, coordinating solicitation calls, training of support staff and tracking Board development activities, and he continues to maintain strong professional and personal relationships with the donor community. Albert Moehring was responsible and accountable for all aspects of the organization's management and operations, including: development and fundraising, marketing and audience development, budgeting and financial management, audits, authoring and preparing portfolios for corporate presentations, artistic administration, concert production, public relations, human resource management, collective bargaining
