Primex Wireless announces SNS Applications Management Platform 3.0
AMP 3.0 includes graphical floor plan views and ability
to customize alert management capabilities
LAKE GENEVA, WIS. (OCTOBER 25, 2011) –– Primex Wireless, the leading provider of wireless
facility monitoring technology, today announced the release of SNS Applications Management
Platform (AMP) 3.0, which provides graphical floor plan views along with the ability to customize alerts.
The new platform improves the staff’s ability to respond to problems identified using monitored devices
in large facilities.
AMP 3.0 is part of the Primex Wireless Synchronous Network System (SNS) platform. SNS uses webbased
software to give facility managers unprecedented capabilities for time synchronization, wireless
sensor monitoring, automatic email alerting and accurate event logging.
When an event occurs, minimizing response time and remediation often is critical. By enabling facility
managers to upload facility floor plans and drag-and-drop SNS device icons in their exact locations
throughout the facility, the new AMP 3.0 Floor Plan view makes it easier to pinpoint locations of current
alerts in large facilities, especially facilities with multiple buildings. Rather than searching through long,
text-based lists, maintenance staff can instantly see where in the building, down to the room, the device is
located.
In response to customers who requested greater control of how alerts within SNS are managed, AMP 3.0
now also includes the ability for facility managers to define and schedule whom to alert by time of day,
work shifts, device groups, etc. It also incorporates an escalation strategy that raises the importance of
alerts to another level when they are not acknowledged by the first contact within a set time period.
“AMP 3.0 enables facility managers to build a more comprehensive plan with alert notifications that can
go to multiple levels,” said Steven Lund, President of Primex Wireless. “With AMP 3.0, the right people
can be informed more quickly that attention or service is required, and alerts can even be escalated when
needed to ensure quick resolution. This improved approach to alert notification is critical for facility

managers in healthcare, education, manufacturing and government as they look to stay ahead of risks and
ensure that their facilities continue to operate as efficiently as possible.”
SNS is one of the first wireless platforms on the market that helps facility managers improve efficiency in
time synchronization, school bell systems and environmental sensor monitoring by using the facility’s
existing Wi-Fi network. SNS enables organizations to ensure their clocks are always accurate throughout
the enterprise, and that temperatures and humidity levels remain within required ranges.
The web-based platform automates, monitors, guides and documents activities performed by facility
managers using existing Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections, and all within 300 milliseconds of the accurate
time – even after a power outage. SNS doesn’t require additional hardware, maximizing the benefits of an
organization’s existing IT infrastructure and reducing the need for any additional IT capital expenditures.
Instead of manually collecting information and analyzing key performance indicators, enterprise
organizations using SNS have data automatically sent from wireless SNS devices and archived in a safe,
centralized server. The information is easily accessed via the Primex Wireless AMP console from any
Internet-connected PC, laptop or mobile device, allowing facility managers to take immediate action if
sensors report conditions that are out of range. Necessary reports can also be quickly generated, enabling
organizations to fulfill regulatory compliance requirements.
