To meet a wide variety of application<br />
demands, SKF produces a comprehensive<br />
range of bearing <strong><strong>housing</strong>s</strong>.<br />
The majority of <strong>the</strong>se are of <strong>the</strong> split<br />
<strong>plummer</strong> <strong>block</strong> type but <strong>the</strong> SKF range<br />
also includes<br />
• one-piece <strong>plummer</strong> <strong>block</strong> <strong><strong>housing</strong>s</strong>,<br />
• flanged <strong><strong>housing</strong>s</strong>,<br />
• take-up <strong><strong>housing</strong>s</strong>, and<br />
• two-bearing <strong><strong>housing</strong>s</strong>.<br />
Most of <strong>the</strong>se <strong><strong>housing</strong>s</strong> are designed<br />
to take self-aligning bearings, and <strong>the</strong><br />
range extends to shaft diameters up to<br />
and including 1 800 mm. Housings are<br />
available for oil lubrication as well as<br />
grease lubrication and also for bearings<br />
with cylindrical bore or with<br />
tapered bore, mounted on adapter or<br />
withdrawal sleeves. Smooth or stepped<br />
shafts can be used.<br />
Various different types of seal are<br />
used. Most <strong><strong>housing</strong>s</strong> are made of grey<br />
cast iron but spheroidal graphite cast<br />
iron or cast steel <strong><strong>housing</strong>s</strong> are included<br />
in <strong>the</strong> range.<br />
