8 The last area on the action plan does not necessarily mean the steps cannot be done earlier. All incidences regardless of the size MUST, at a minimum, be reported to the Site Emergency Contact. IMPORTANT! - For Retail Cardholders The operation and safeguards outlined in this booklet are provided for the user’s safety. They should have been both verbally explained and visually reviewed with you by a representative from the retail petroleum department. When you are satisfied that these steps have been adequately provided, then the operating agreement between yourself and the Co-op must be signed. In the event a Cardlock user is observed operating equipment in an unsafe manner by a fire inspector, the Cardlock card MUST be surrendered to the fire inspector upon request. No substitute card can or will be issued to a user who has been prohibited from using an unattended self-serve site due to unsafe operation. The fire inspector shall report any conviction for safety violations to the Fire Commissioner. The Fire Commissioner’s office will compile and provide a list of offenders to retail managers of unattended self-serve locations. Index
Cardlock Operating Instructions 9 The cardlock equipment at some of the sites in the CO-OP TM and Tempo ® network is being upgraded to accept a mag stripe cardlock card in addition to the currently used punched card. Sites that have been updated with this equipment will have 2 slots to insert cards at the card readers. Please use the appropriate slot for the punched card or the mag stripe card that you have been issued to use. Note that the Dual Card Reader sites (which accept punched or mag stripe cardlock cards) have slightly different instructions for keying. Watch the prompts and enter the appropriate information. Summarized below are the instructions for a Single Card Reader and a Dual Card Reader. SINGLE CARD READER Follow instructions on display screen. DISPLAY SCREEN ACTION REQUIRED Be sure pump or dispensers and nozzles (and satellite if applicable) that you wish to use are all in the “off” position. 1. INSERT CARD Insert card in slot 2. REMOVE CARD Remove card immediately 3. ENTER PIN Key in PIN (Personal Identification Number) Press ENTER 4.
