BAUW Roundup II
a Winner
On Saturday, Oct. 13, the Barrington
Area United Way (BAUW)
b
held its second Roundup Gala and
horse auction at the barns of Advocate Good
Shepherd Hospital. This year’s Roundup
II event follows several months of the public
display of this fundraiser and art project
with its beautifully-decorated equines by area
artists. Residents enjoyed seeing the horses
around town and in windows of local businesses,
and were invited to vote for their favorite
horse. Roundup II sponsors purchased horses in a variety of sizes, with a new
addition this year – the tabletop horse – that was a helpful addition for sponsors and
buyers at auction, alike. “The tabletop horses were a tremendous success and allowed us
to include more businesses this year,” Leslie Luther-Jeschke, BAUW’s executive director,
said. “The tabletop horses brought in about $4,200 in proceeds, with the overall event
netting us close to $30,000.” For more information on the Roundup II, or to learn more
about BAUW, visit www.bauw.org.
