<strong>William</strong> L. <strong>Berry</strong><br />
Bill <strong>Berry</strong> is Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Management at the McColl School <strong>of</strong><br />
Business at <strong>Queens</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Charlotte</strong>. He received his<br />
B.S. degree in Geophysics from Virginia Tech, served in the<br />
U.S. Army and worked as a development engineer for the<br />
Kendall Corporation. In pursuit <strong>of</strong> an academic career, he<br />
earned his doctorate from the Harvard Business School. While<br />
there he participated in the International Teachers Program in<br />
Leysin, Switzerland.<br />
He has held tenured appointments in the management schools<br />
<strong>of</strong> The Ohio State <strong>University</strong> and Wake Forest and has been a<br />
visiting pr<strong>of</strong>essor at Dartmouth’s Tuck School, Duke’s Fuqua<br />
and Medical Schools, Southern Methodist’s Cox School and<br />
the American International Graduate School <strong>of</strong> Business<br />
(Thunderbird).<br />
Bill has won five awards for teaching excellence. His primary research and writing interests focus<br />
on the strategic relationships between operations, marketing, and organization structure. He is the<br />
author <strong>of</strong> two books, including Management Decision Sciences: Cases and Readings. He has also<br />
written several articles for scholarly journals and over 100 cases and teaching notes.<br />
Bill operates a consulting practice which focuses on corporate and operating strategies, technology<br />
and materials management, mathematical modeling, management <strong>of</strong> services and management<br />
development. His clients have included AT&T, Anheuser-Busch, Becton-Dickson, British<br />
Telecom, Campbell-Taggart, Champion International, Chrysler, Ciba-Geigy, Digital Equipment,<br />
First National Bank <strong>of</strong> Chicago, GTE, Gould, IBM, ITT, the U.S. Justice Department, National<br />
Steel, Pitney-Bowes, Polaroid, Rockwell, Sara Lee, U. S. Borax, Westinghouse Electric, and the<br />
World Bank.
