Winkworth first opened for business in 1835 in Curzon
Street, Mayfair. We served the property needs of the
gentry, who were in London for the Season.
Business ledgers from over the years list countless sales to
Lords and Ladies and provide an intriguing insight into
Winkworth’s history as a leading London agent.
In 1980, Winkworth was transformed under the
franchising model – the first property company in the UK
to adopt this style of business. As a result, all our estate
agencies are independently owned and run by a team of
local experts, who are dedicated to their individual clients
and not to meeting corporate objectives.

Today Winkworth has a network fast-approaching 100
offices. Ours is the largest estate agency group in London
with 57 offices. Our presence extends across England and
into France, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland and Hong Kong.

owned by James Wilkinson, who is supported by an
experienced team of negotiators and support staff.
Over the years, Winkworth Highgate has sold and let

Twice a year, we release a Winkworth special edition of
Country Life magazine. All the editorial content is
specially prepared for Winkworth by the Country Life

distributed door-to- door and via the offices, targeting
prime addresses across London and UK.
Regional property listings magazines are another valuable
means of promoting properties to tens of thousands of
homes in the area.

publications. We place full page adverts in

In addition to Winkworth.co.uk, we will promote your
